Our 2025 Responsible Business Practices Report serves as an update on our approach to managing our priority topics, highlighting our 2024 efforts, and demonstrates the many ways that Meta is built to connect.
We believe that technology, at its best, helps unlock potential for good. From our investments in sustainable infrastructure, to ushering in the next era of social technology as we evolve our products and programs, to the advertising solutions that connect businesses with customers around the world — everything Meta does is inspired by the importance of human connection.
Our strategic pillars guide our approach:
We are committed to operating transparently and communicating about our efforts regularly.
Since 2020, Meta has maintained net zero emissions in our operations1 and matched 100% of our electricity use with clean and renewable energy. Additionally, Meta-supported wind and solar projects are adding more than 15 gigawatts of clean and renewable energy to grids globally.

We updated open source tools that enable developers to customize the model for their needs — including Llama Guard 2 and CyberSecEval — and introduced Code Shield, which developers can use to reduce the chance of generating potentially insecure code.
Teen Accounts have built-in protections which limit who can contact them, the content they see, and provide daily time limit reminders. We automatically place teens into Teen Accounts, and teens under 16 will need a parent’s permission to change any of these settings to be less strict.
As part of 2024 election preparations, we worked to manage AI risks, enforce our policies on voter interference, disrupt adversarial networks, provide transparency on political advertising and connect voters to reliable information.
