Frequently asked questions
Frequently asked questions
What is Meta Neural Band?
An EMG wrist band that uses electromyography technology to read natural muscle signals from your hand. Control the Meta Ray-Ban Display in-lens display with subtle gestures like pinching, scrolling and tapping.
How does Meta Neural Band work?
Meta Neural Band uses surface EMG (electromyography) sensors placed against your wrist to interpret natural electrical signals from muscle activity. Guided by instant haptic feedback, subtle hand movements translate into gestures that navigate the in-lens display.
How do I find my Meta Neural Band size?
If you're replacing Meta Neural Band, you can check the size (1, 2 or 3) on the box it came in, or lift the end of the band strap and check the underside of the metal clasp. If you can't find your size, you can visit a store for in-person fitting and demo, or use the Wrist Sizing Tool which uses your smartphone camera and a card for scale.
Why does getting my wrist size right matter?
Meta Neural Band reads the natural signals from your hand and wrist muscles, allowing you to control your glasses with simple and subtle hand movements. Those signals only register accurately when Meta Neural Band sits snug on your wrist. If the band is too loose, it can miss your gestures. If it's too tight, it won't be comfortable to wear. A properly sized Meta Neural Band ensures your Meta Ray-Ban Display works the way it's meant to.
Which wrist should I measure?
Measure the wrist of your writing hand. That's the hand you'll wear the band on, and it will ensure the best experience with your Meta Ray-Ban Display. Most people's wrists differ slightly in size, so measuring the other wrist can give you an inconsistent size.
What if my wrist falls between two sizes?
Go with the smaller size. The band is designed to sit snug on your wrist, and the smaller of the two will give you the more accurate fit.
Is Meta Neural Band adjustable?
Yes. The band is adjustable and flexible, but that adjustment fine-tunes the fit within a size rather than across sizes. Picking the right size is what positions the sensors correctly on your wrist.
Tip: Do not leave extra room when measuring—the adjustment handles comfort, not sizing.

I ordered the wrong size. Can I exchange my Meta Neural Band?
Visit the support page for further information, troubleshooting tips and FAQs about the online sizing tool.
Is Meta Neural Band water-resistant?
Yes, it is IPX7 water-resistant meaning it can withstand immersion in up to 1 meter of water for 30 minutes. It is also safe for handwashing, rain and sweat.
How long does Meta Neural Band battery last?
Up to 18 hours on a single charge. Designed for all-day wear from morning to night.
Which glasses are Meta Neural Band compatible?
Meta Neural Band is designed to work seamlessly with Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses only.
Is Meta Neural Band compatible with Ray-Ban Meta or other glasses?
Meta Neural Band is designed exclusively for Meta Ray-Ban Display. It is not compatible with Ray-Ban Meta (Gen 2 or Gen 3) or other AI glasses.
How is Meta Neural Band different from camera-based tracking sensors?
Unlike hand camera-based tracking sensors, Meta Neural Band doesn't require your hand to be within a camera's field of view. Meta Neural Band allows you to easily and naturally interact with your glasses, even in low-light conditions, and it captures micromotions such as tapping and writing with your finger. These micromotions are not well captured by traditional motion sensors such as accelerometers.
Is the EMG wearable technology in Meta Neural Band safe to use?
Meta Neural Band uses safe, non-invasive EMG sensor technology in a flexible, comfortable wristband that you can wear all day. Learn more here.
What is Electromyography (EMG)?
Meta Neural Band uses electromyography (EMG) to measure muscle activity at the wrist from electrical signals based on your intended action. Machine learning translates these signals into digital commands that operate your glasses.
Will Meta Neural Band work with my favorite apps?
Meta Ray-Ban Display is now open for developers to build on. With a new toolkit and clear build paths, we're working with app developers to bring more integrations to Meta Neural Band and Meta Ray-Ban Display. Check our website for updates on supported apps and experiences.
Does Meta Neural Band protect user privacy?
Meta Neural Band was designed with user privacy in mind. The band uses machine learning that translates EMG signals into digital commands, and the data is processed locally on the device.
