Updated review
I felt the need to update my review based on 1)the 1 star reviews I’ve read, as these are the first reviews I read when I consider purchasing a new game, and 2) my experiences since the various updates. In regards to the 1 star reviews: these are mostly based on the difficulty of the game, and to be sure, this game is HARD. Which is as it should be. This is not a game for casual gamers, this is for gamers that understand the concepts of teamwork and strategy, without both you will lose but skilled players will find the difficulty level very satisfactory and rewarding when you clear the various dungeons. You won’t breeze through these dungeons, you will crawl and struggle and it will be difficult but it will be be fun and enjoyable and so rewarding. New campaigns have been added since I started playing as well as the hang out basement and paint tables, all welcome additions. The single player and two player modes are a very welcome addition and are a huge improvement. My issues: Zap spell is broken in some campaigns and can really hurt your team at random times. If you die fighting the boss you have to restart the entire campaign, that’s a little harsh. You should be able to reload the beginning of the current floor of the campaign. The campaigns are long and batteries only last so long. And that’s about it. If you’re a fan of tabletop games or D&D then this game is an absolute must buy. 4 stars because there’s no 4.5 option.
