This is the start of what could be an amazing franchise. They drop you right into the action without much world-building, but the visuals are gorgeous and the gameplay is fun and leverages the medium of VR superbly. The swimming mechanic in particular is excellent, but there’s jumping, climbing, and plenty of shooting. The campaign isn’t super long but I actually liked that as some games feel like they show you what they got and then last a little longer than they keep your interest. The sparser story introduces some key features of this sci fi world that could easily be expanded on and fleshed out in sequels to come. If Hubris 2 comes out it would jump straight to my cart. Oh, and the devs did a great job with bHaptics integration as well. Clearly they are true VR enthusiasts. It’s not a super long action RPG with endless maps to explore but rather a tight and light, beautifully executed ride. Strap in and enjoy!
