I went into this extremely skeptical because every other The Walking Dead game aside from the Telltale Games TWD have been absolutely horrible. Add in the fact that a lot of VR games are janky and horrendous, I did not have high hopes for Saints and Sinners. .... BOY WAS I SURPRISED! This is, by far, the best TWD game ever made, and quite possibly the best zombie survival game ever made. (I'm biased, though, as I am a Romero style zombie fan, not a track runner zombie fan) You have a limited amount of time to scavenge as much as you can (I'm not going to spoil why your time is limited, but it's a story reason) while completing side quests, and when time is up you can return to your base camp and process all of the materials you scavenged into usable materials for crafting new gear and upgrades. The combat is satisfying, as you can grab the walkers to hold them back from biting you while you dispatch them, and nearly everything you find can be used for that purpose. Don't have a weapon? That's okay, grab that glass bottle off the ground, break it over a walker's head, hold them still and jam the broken glass through their eye into the brain! Or use a screwdriver, or butter knife, or bash them with a log, brick, old shoe, rusted frame of an old revolver... When you're desperate and surrounded, you do what you have to do. The durability of things you use as weapons is reasonable; a glass bottle is good for one hit to break it and one stab with the broken parts. A screwdriver through the skull is only going to work a few times before the handle snaps off, etc Each day, the supplies get more scarce and the walkers spawn more frequently. This makes late game survival much tougher. Even though you've unlocked lots of weapons, ammo, gear and abilities there are a lot more walkers and far less things to scrap for maintaining your gear or crafting more ammo. But it's not such a drastic difficulty spike that you're not prepared for it. As you unlock more powerful stuff, the game gets harder to keep the challenge even. Oh! THE BEST FEATURE! I almost forgot! Make sure to give it microphone permissions and turn the setting on that uses it. If you get startled by a walker and make sounds from being scared, nearby walkers will *hear* that and come to investigate the sound. This definitely got me into trouble while yelling at a walker while bashing it with a brick then trash talking it victoriously... I turn around and I had gotten the attention of 6 more walkers. Oooooops.
