One of the best platformers in VR
I've initially got this game on PCVR a long time ago but had played just the first level before putting it down. After finishing Max Mustard and loving it, I decided to give this game another go but now on standalone, and I'm glad I did because I think I end up liking this game even more than Max Mustard. It doesn't have the innovative mechanics of Max Mustard, but the platforming seems better, it's more challenging, and I think the enemies have more charm like Pixar characters. The first level is more like a tutorial so it's not as challenging and its environment is not as engaging, but following levels are much better. If Max Mustard takes heavy inspiration from Astrobot, then you can clearly see that this game takes inspiration from 3D Mario games. The smooth animations, the cool enemy style and expressions (like the bee and the bird), the interesting levels, all remind me of a Nintendo game, and it's super cool to see all of this take life in front of you in VR. The water level and the temple levels are especially impressive both graphically and in level design. I loved the final boss fight, and it was hard but in a very good way. The only two issues with this game is that it's a bit short, and that you can clearly see that the resolution was defined with the weaker Quest 2 processor in mind, but luckily the latter can be solved by using QGO or a similar program. After starting the game using QGO with its default profile for this game (HD+) the game looks as nice on my Quest 3 as its PCVR version. I think this is a mandatory game for people who like platformers.
