This is easily the greatest VR game hands down. I have multiple meta quest devices so my family can play together and we have easily put more hours into this game than any other. There are not many games that transport you to worlds where not only is the focus the game itself, but standing in awe and looking around. The other day my daughter and I sat in Shangri-La at night and just talked for half hour and looked around. We didn’t even play golf. My son and I often explore Around the World in 80 days or Journey to the Center of the Earth or others (including resetting the fox hunts) without even playing the golf. Sometimes we get on together and just fly around exploring the courses, and listening to the perfect accompanying music and atmosphere. The game transports you. Every new course release we literally countdown to in excitement. Although recently, some of the new courses have missed the mark. BUT, I just took the headset off after playing Mount Olympus, and it is MAGNIFICENT. Blown away by the details. I had to hold back playing the hard/night mode until my son gets home so we can play it together and do the fox hunt. After missing the mark on some of the latest releases they nailed it with Mount Olympus. It has a Gardens of Babylon (one of my favorites) feel but magnified. Dedicated holes to the various gods. So many nice touches that didn’t need to be put in but were. (In stead of stairs coming out of Poseidon there’s stacked corral is one example of a hundred things like this make it magical and beautiful). The awe of the course design and music, the feeling of being transported somewhere real and tangible, where you can spend time not just for the golf but for the world itself. If you haven’t bought this game, buy it. Without hesitation. But where every new course was usually an absolute Must Buy, there are some that you should skip. (See below for thoughts on the courses). I LOVE this game. Like really love it. And currently picking out the posters of our favorite courses for our VR room. Must buy DLCs: Lost World Bundle, Jules Verne courses, Myst and Labrinth, Laser Lair, Elfheim, Venice, Mars Garden, Mount Olympus. Save your money: Upsidedown Town, Meow Wolf, Ice Lair, Wallace and Gromit, 8 Bit Lair, Viva Las Vegas. Of the included courses Cherry Blossom and Quixote Valley are spectacular, and I love the calmness of Arizona Modern too just to chill. All other DLCs are solid and happy to have, just not top tier. It’s a shame you can’t leave a review on each DLC, I’d break each down further. Maybe a YouTube channel dedicated to Walkabout Minigolf is my next project…. Im passionate about this game and the created worlds. It’s phenomenol. (Maybe an expansive Pirates of the Caribbean style one next?) BUY IT.
