Being a dabbler in real paints, once you hit a certain level of comfort, paints, brushes, cleaners, and canvas get pretty expensive. For the price of one or two tubes of high quality paint, you can have Painting VR, allowing you unlimited canvases, unlimited paint, brushes that are pretty believable, and none of the cleanup! Even factoring in the cost of a quest 3s right now, it's still in the ballpark of acquiring a full set of professional artist grade equipment and supplies, all of which will need replacing. Painting VR easily gives me that relaxed mind set I get while painting, I don't have to worry about proper brush care or paints drying too fast, I can just paint without overthinking. Add to that a team that is very active and accessible on their discord, speedy responses in their bug channel, and we have a winner. Yes there's in-app purchases, but for the prices, the new environments all feel unique, and each brush pack adds more quality and fun. If you like even just dabbling in paint, this is probably the best app on the quest in terms of quality and ease of use. Trust me, I've purchased almost all of them, and there's something special in Painting VR. Yes there's bugs, no it's not exactly like real painting, but I believe it's the closest we can get right now.
