Great game with a steep curve
At first I wasn't sure about the way the game handled but after a couple of songs you start to get a bit of a feel for it. Overall it's a beautifully made game with some serious Rock Band vibes and there's a pretty decent song selection.
However there is a steep learning curve and combined with some issues with the way guitar and hand tracking works, it can be really overwhelming trying to level up your gameplay.
First, the guitar itself freely moves up and down as you move your fret hand towards and away from you. This sometimes results in a mismatch of your pick hand and the hitbox for the strings. There could be a dead zone or the option of having the guitar stay fixed to help with that issue.
Secondly the leap in technique from easy to normal is big. Going from playing two finger patterns to multiple, constantly shifting patterns you have never tried before at a much higher rate of speed. There needs to be an in between, learning the different finger patterns at a comfortable speed etc. The rate those notes come at you is hard to take in when the changes are so frequent. Some people will take to this but the average user will struggle to keep up.
Finally, there is definitely an issue with the game sometimes missing correct placement of fingers. It completely killed a good run for me because it refused to recognise a simple three finger pattern on repeat.
I still mostly enjoy what I've played so far but I think it'll be limited due to these issues. You can get some good fun and nostalgia from playing this and when it works it's really satisfying, but if you're considering it be prepared for a tough challenge and some frustration too.
Overall, a generally well made game with some issues that could be addressed if the devs care to do so.
