Button layout missed opportunities
Parkour the main mechanic of the game is triggered with the A button. So in order to run and jump in parkour across buildings you are doomed to run in a straight path while tapping the joystick whenever you get the opportunity. Makes it extremely frustrating and difficult when parkour challenges make an abrupt turn. You could take a lesson from first person shooters. Bumper jumper tactical? if you know, you know. Picking a trigger button like say the left trigger to initiate parkour mode. Would free up both thumbs to be on the joysticks to maneuver the character seamlessly. I tried changing my button layout. I didn't have any options for this. Also a little critique on the combat. I'm an assassin. I'm highly trained why am I waiting to block 10 times before I can attack?
On a great note it's a really well done assassin's Creed game. It's definitely cannon. The feel, The vibes all there. Just some tweaking to make it a little more enjoyable in VR. A looser leash on the combat in an update would be greatly appreciated. Adjustable button layout would definitely help me set up my controller in a way I can keep my thumbs on the joysticks to maneuver while still using the mechanics of the parkour mode. Definitely a great game we'll worth it. Highly recommend.
