Deliciously Deadly: Limited-Time Infection Event Now Live in ‘Among Us VR’

You know what’s worse than a nasty burrito that gives you a tummy ache? How about a zombified undead burrito that’s entirely obsessed with the idea of eating your flesh? Yeah, sounds like a pretty bad day as a new line cook.

Following on from Among Us VR’s first-ever Limited Time Event earlier this year, the Crewmates are back with another special order of mayhem! The Infection Event is now live and sure to result in plenty of chaos and fun.

In this new event, Crewmates are now chefs on a brand-new map: the Mess Hall. You’ll have to exercise extreme care and focus on your tasks to be the best chef your team has ever seen. You’ll handle the deep fryer, make perfectly round donuts, take inventory of the freezer supplies, and more. The Mess Hall map expands the play space and introduces lots of new elements that will be equal parts fun and unnerving to explore.

But this isn’t just called the Infection Event because Schell Games has infected your game with lots of great new ideas—even if that’s still the case—it’s because of the Zomburritos! Their goal is to gradually infect and take over the chefs that are busy cooking up food by slowly spreading their contagious, zombie nastiness. With each chef that gets turned, they’ll join the ranks of the Zomburritos on their quest for Mess Hall domination.

And that’s not all—Schell Games is also announcing the wardrobe upgrade as part of today’s Infection Event update. The devs have expanded and redesigned the Crewmate closet to better display your available cosmetics. All of your bean color options are now visible on the same page.

This gives you greater control over your style and lets you dress up just the way you want. You can also grab two new DLC hats in the Store during the Infection Event—a reimagined “My Name Chef” hat inspired by the classic from the original Among Us game and a Zomburrito-themed hat. You can grab these in the Mess Hall DLC for $2.99 USD.

Among Us VR is available to players 13+ on the Meta Quest Store, and the Infection Event is live in the game starting today. Load in and get to work serving up some fun for yourself and some friends!
