Hit the Lights: ‘Among Us VR’ Releases First-Ever Limited Time Event, ‘Lights Out’

Among Us VR is kicking off 2024 with its first-ever Limited Time Event, “Lights Out.” From now until March 12, you’ll be able to hop into this new tug-of-war style mode where Crewmates battle Impostors to keep the lights on. As a Crewmate, each task you complete turns the lights on a little more and makes it easier to see—though, of course, Impostors will try to sabotage your work and bring back the darkness. Better for committing nefarious deeds.

In addition, all Crewmates are retrained as Engineers—meaning you can use vents. That’s right, vents aren’t just for those knife-wielding Impostors anymore. Use the air ducts to hop around the map and complete tasks quickly. And the venting continues outside Lights Out Mode. You can use the Engineer role in standard Among Us VR matches via Custom Lobby Settings, opening up new strategies for Crewmates and making the Impostors’ lives just a little harder.

And if you really want to look the part of an Engineer, you can pick up the new Overscoped hat (featured in the trailer above). The first fully animated hat in Among Us VR, the Overscoped hat certainly makes you look smarter, with its retractable loupe and steampunk flair. Whether you’ll actually be able to complete tasks faster? No promises.

Lights Out is the first of many Limited-Time Events that Innersloth LLC, Schell Games, and Robot Teddy have planned for Among Us VR in 2024.
