“Spooky Scary Skeletons” is the kind of song that feels like it’s been around forever, but it actually has an interesting story behind it. Written by Andrew Gold, it made its first appearance on a 1998 VHS called Disney Sing-Along Songs: Happy Haunting - Party at Disneyland! back when VHS was a thing.In 2013, The Living Tombstone remixed it into the faster tempo, EDM-style song that most people are familiar with. Social media supercharged it into a meme, and it’s been a Halloween staple ever since, right up there with “Monster Mash.”
The rapid fire, ribcage xylophone set off with a thumping dance bass also makes this song sort of perfect for Beat Saber, whether you want to go hard and try to keep up on Expert+ or take it a bit easier.
