Sync Your Move Stats with the Meta Quest Mobile App and Health Connect by Android
Using VR to get fit is fun, and you can do it wherever and whenever you want. Whether you’re going head-to-head with friends trying to destroy targets in Racket: Nx, doing knee strikes in LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT, or doing choreographed dancing in FitXR, your movements are very real, and that burn you’re feeling is a sign that you’re doing some serious body movement.
That’s why VR fitness on Meta Quest is booming and has become a key part of the VR ecosystem. Over the last year, we’ve made several announcements demonstrating our commitment to VR fitness. Those include the launch of the Meta Quest 2 Active Pack, all-new experiences like leading VR basketball simulator GYM CLASS - BASKETBALL VR, and our integration of Meta Quest Move with the Meta Quest mobile app.
With that integration, you can view your workout data—including calories burned and minutes worked out in VR, plus any goals you’ve set—on your mobile device. We also enabled Apple Health users to sync their VR fitness progress to their Apple Health app.
Now, with our latest update, we’re bringing that same functionality to Android devices with Health Connect by Android. This will let Android users get credit for their VR workouts without having to manually input the minutes they exercised, as well as integrate VR workouts and stats with all other daily fitness activities on their Android devices so that they can always see an up-to-date picture of their workout progress. This integration will work on Android smart phones with Health Connect.

If you want to sync your Meta Quest Move stats to the Meta Quest mobile app and from there to Health Connect by Android, you can do so any time you want. And if you change your mind, you can always disconnect from Health Connect in the Meta Quest mobile app. When you do, no new Move activity will be shared with the app, but any previous activity will still appear.
After setting up the Move app in VR, it’s easy to sync your Move stats to the Meta Quest mobile app. Simply follow these instructions:

- In the Move app in VR, tap Settings in the bottom right corner.
- Scroll down to "Connect Move to Meta Quest Mobile App" and toggle on the switch.

- When you’re in the app, navigate to Explore and open the Move app.
- There, you’ll see the Move dashboard and all your stats for the day. If you want, you can also filter by app or see your monthly calendar view here.

- First, follow the instructions above to connect Move with the Meta Quest mobile app.
- Next, tap on the “Connected Apps” tab at the top.
- Finally, tap on the toggle next to “Health Connect by Android” to enable syncing. You have to agree to provide permissions for “Active calories burned” and “Exercise” in order to fully enable this feature.

We’ve designed the tracking of VR fitness data through the Meta Quest Move app, and the integration of that data into both Apple Health and Health Connect by Android, with privacy at the forefront. That means you can put all your energy into working up a sweat and getting your heart pumping without having to worry about whether your data’s at risk.
Our Apple Health and Health Connect by Android integrations are opt-in, and if you choose to connect Meta Quest Move to the Meta Quest mobile app, all your Move stats—calories burned, minutes of movement, and your goals—are protected by end-to-end encryption when stored on our servers and won’t be used to inform ad targeting on any Meta services.
In addition, your Move stats are stored locally on your headset by default. They will only be sent to Meta servers if you decide to sync your stats with the Meta Quest mobile app.
And finally, you’re always in control of your data. It’s entirely up to you where and when you choose to share your VR fitness achievements. That means your Meta Quest Move stats will never be shared on Facebook, Instagram, or Messenger unless you choose to do so. However, fitness data you choose to share with Apple via Apple Health or Google via Health Connect by Android is subject to their terms and privacy policies. Doing so is entirely opt-in, so you get to choose if you want to connect Meta Quest Move to the Meta Quest mobile app and from there to either Apple Health or Health Connect by Android.
If you do choose to share your data with Apple Health or Health Connect by Android, you can always revoke the access those apps have to your Move stats in System Settings. If you do, that will stop any new Move activity from being shared with Apple or Google. However, any Move activity shared before you revoke access will still be available to, and may appear in, those apps.
We’ve heard again and again that VR fitness helps people feel better about themselves, and that’s why we’re such believers in it. And that’s why we’re so excited to improve the experience you have when you strap on your headset and get moving.
