‘Another Fisherman’s Tale’ Releases May 11 on Meta Quest 2 + Pro
Today, InnerspaceVR and Vertigo Games revealed that Another Fisherman’s Tale will release on Meta Quest 2 + Pro on May 11. Don’t lose your head—or maybe do lose your head. Or at the very least, take your head off of your body and use it to solve puzzles.
Another Fisherman’s Tale is shaping up to be every bit as mind-bending as its predecessor. Where 2019’s award-winning A Fisherman’s Tale challenged players to solve puzzles using recursion (escaping from a model of a model of a model of a lighthouse), the new Another Fisherman’s Tale requires you to use your body in ways you’ve (probably) never attempted in real life.
Detach your hands and throw them into a locked room to find the key, or replace your hand with a pirate hook to climb to new locations. You can even pop your head clean off and then pilot your body around the room.

It’s all wrapped up in a tale of adventure on the high seas. You’ll play as Nina, daughter of Bob the Fisherman—or maybe it’s more accurate to say you play as a puppet of Bob the Fisherman, being controlled by his daughter Nina in a series of elaborate models. That explains the head-and-hands-popping-off part of the game.
With these models, you’ll get to relive some of Bob’s larger-than-life adventures, featuring pirates, sunken ships, and more. It’s a fun premise, though having played A Fisherman’s Tale, it’ll undoubtedly end up more heartwarming and poignant than you’d expect from all the silly “disembodied hand crawling around” shenanigans.

If you haven’t played A Fisherman’s Tale yet, now’s the perfect time. It’s not required by any means, but A Fisherman’s Tale is one of the best puzzle games ever made for the Meta Quest Platform. Arguably one of the best Meta Quest games, period. You’ll find it on the Meta Quest Store for $14.99 USD and can knock it out in the next few weeks.
And then Another Fisherman’s Tale releases for Meta Quest 2 + Pro on May 11. Mark your calendars and start limbering up those limbs—you won’t want to miss it.
