Not only does the Daft Punk Music Pack mark the first ever release of live tracks in Beat Saber, “The Prime Time of Your Life (Live 2007)”—clocking in at 10 minutes 23 seconds—replaces “Free Bird” as the longest song in the game.
The Daft Punk Music Pack also introduces a new environment inspired by the band’s iconic “triangle” stage look from their live shows. We’ve put an extraterrestrial spin on it, surrounding players with stars—including some that get up close and personal to orbit around you. And be on the lookout for the DJs’ trademark gold and silver helmets, which are also present in the environment, including reflections, text, and spectrogram effects across their visors.
Beat Games is introducing Advanced Haptics for Quest 2, 3, and Pro as part of this release, giving players improved haptic feedback. The new Advanced Haptics have unique haptics for all objects in the game and are designed to feel familiar while providing a bigger palette of feedback to players. Feel the finer differences in textures and materials in notes, chains, arcs, obstacles, and more as your sabers slash, touch, and interact with them.
New for the Daft Punk Music Pack, lasers now have physics, so if they rotate and hit a piece of geometry in the scene, the laser will stop rather than shining through objects. And the brighter a laser is, the longer its length. This works particularly well in reverse—when a laser is fading out, its length will gradually decrease.
