Biggest ‘Beat Saber’ Update Ever Brings Flux, Refreshed Campaign, and More in Spring 2027

This spring, Beat Saber is starting its evolution into a multi-mode rhythm platform with its biggest update yet on Meta VR Glasses and Meta Quest. The update brings Flux, a new single-player experience that adds a brand new way to play, as well as a refreshed Campaign mode, a new progression system with first-ever rewards, refreshed visuals, and Beat Saber’s first logo redesign in nearly a decade.

Flux, An All-New Way to Play

Flux is the biggest addition since Beat Saber’s official full release in 2019. This new single-player experience builds on Beat Saber's slice-and-dice gameplay by using hand tracking to make your hands your weapons.

You’ll wield Flux Powers like the Flux Tether, which channels power between your palms to slice through notes in time with the beat of pulse-pounding tracks. That power also surges to your left and right hands, which you’ll use to punch through other note targets. Destroying notes builds Jolt energy — squeeze your fists while slicing notes to trigger a Jolt and earn big scores.

Prefer Touch Plus controllers? Flux supports them, too.

Flux launches on Meta VR Glasses and Meta Quest with 35 songs from the Original Soundtracks, Extras, and Anniversary packs, including tracks from Lindsey Sterling, Teminite, DragonForce, Haywyre, Camellia, and Boom Kitty, plus in-house tracks from Jaroslav Beck and Zakka G. More Flux songs are planned post-launch.

Another Slice at Beat Saber’s Campaign

Developer Beat Games has completely refreshed Beat Saber’s traditional single-player campaign to create a new experience for new and veteran players alike.

The enhanced Campaign mode weaves a light narrative element into the experience, so you can dig deeper into Beat Saber while testing all your note-slicing skills.

You’ll also see new barriers and missions as you work your way through Campaign mode, offering opportunities to earn exclusive in-game rewards.

Beat Saber’s user interface has also been completely refreshed, with a new menu system to quickly get you into game modes or ready to check out new content. That’s alongside an improved user experience for first-time players that will teach you the ropes of Beat Saber and get you slashing to the beat.

First-Ever Rewards System and Enhanced Progression

Beat Saber is also about challenging yourself, competing with the Beat Saber community, and showing off your skills. For the first time in Beat Saber, an all-new progression and rewards system dishes out cosmetic rewards to collect that will push your skills to their limit.

New in-game rewards let you customize the look and sound of your Beat Saber experience with highly requested elements, including new sabers, notes, and more. You can show off your personality and achievements to the rest of the Beat Saber community with Profile Badges and Banners. It’s all tracked in a new inventory system that keeps your rewards together, so you can swap them in and out as you see fit.

Lose the Controllers With Universal Hand Tracking

You’ll now have the choice to play all of Beat Saber without the need for controllers, thanks to high-fidelity hand tracking.
