‘Citadel’ Delivers Rogue-Lite Action and Adventure in Meta Horizon Worlds
It’s been six weeks since we launched Super Rumble in Meta Horizon Worlds. It’s the first of many experiences to come that leverage improved graphics, deeper gameplay, and quests and rewards systems to reimagine what Worlds can be. Today, we’re excited to build on that momentum and introduce Citadel—an expansive adventure game in Meta Horizon Worlds.
While Super Rumble delivers competitive free-for-all FPS action, Citadel is a rogue-lite action-adventure puzzle platformer FPS (try saying that five times fast). And you can fly solo or team up with a friend for co-op gameplay—the choice is yours.
The Deets
Combining combat, puzzle-solving, and skillful gameplay, each room in Citadel gives players a new challenge to overcome. With numerous hidden secrets to uncover across 30 rooms, Citadel offers a wealth of content to explore. And after completing the game in Casual mode, those up for an additional challenge can take on Veteran mode for an even greater sense of achievement (and additional bragging rights).
As you infiltrate the citadel, find hidden relics, and eliminate enemy forces, you’ll unlock weapons and rewards and earn credit to buy new armor with unique stats to upgrade your hit points, number of lives, and speed. Mix and match helmets and torso armors at will to fully customize your gameplay experience.
Citadel lets you immerse yourself in a world of mechanical guardians and ancient civilizations, but make no mistake: Timing and precision are the name of the game. And the interconnected game levels dial up the difficulty as you advance to keep you on your toes.
The Pro-Tips
As you play through the game, perish, and maintain some of your momentum as you continue your progression, you’re sure to uncover some tips and tricks to help you make your way through the citadel. But we thought a little cheat sheet might be nice to get you started:
- Switch weapons depending on the objective
- Revive a friend by giving them a high-five
- Shoot the ground with your rocket launcher to jump higher

Citadel is available in all countries where Meta Horizon Worlds is supported, so jump in and give it a try. We plan to introduce new quests, expansions, and features to keep things interesting as we continue building the experience. Keep an eye out for more news in the future.
