Win Big (or Die Trying) in ‘Death Game Hotel,’ Out Now on Meta Quest

A high-end hotel, a mysterious set of strangers, and a bit of gambling. Welcome to Death Game Hotel, the debut VR title from White Owls Inc., known for its founder Hidetaka Suehiro, a.k.a. SWERY (of Deadly Premonition).

Unfortunately, you may find the antes a bit steep here. You’re not playing for valuables in Death Game Hotel, but invaluables. Parts of your body, to be exact. Perhaps even your life, if the betting gets out of hand.

The singleplayer campaign pits you against fellow hotel guests in “Death Game 2000.” Face off against some of the world’s best gamblers in a high-stakes survival game where the odds are stacked against you. Get to know your competition—and then use that knowledge against them as you do your best to stay alive.

How about that poker face? Death Game Hotel lets you face off against other players from around the world. Get lucky—or learn to bluff really well. Both are valid options.

Death Game Hotel includes two different modes for players to master. In Goblet of the Reaper, players drop tiles into a blood-filled goblet and hope it doesn’t overflow. Empty your hand without overflowing, and you’ll win—but if blood spills from your goblet, the Reaper may appear for one final deathmatch.

Death Poker, meanwhile, plays pretty much like normal poker—but there’s a new Death suit that trumps all others. Oh, and you can bet your body parts, of course.

It promises to be a weird, wild, and slightly surreal time. If you’re ready to win big (or die trying), then you’ll find Death Game Hotel available on Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro today for $19.99 USD.
