Explosive Mech Combat Simulator ‘Vox Machinae’ Blasts Onto Quest 2 This March
Something about putting on a VR headset and strapping yourself into the virtual cockpit of a towering mech just goes hand in hand. They feel made for one another. And now we’ve got Vox Machinae from Space Bullet Dynamics Corporation coming soon to Quest 2 and exiting Early Access for PC VR headsets on March 3 for $29.99 USD to prove just how perfect of a combination it is.
Vox Machinae will feature a 10-hour long campaign that has players embark on a planet-hopping adventure joined by a ragtag cast of crewmembers in search of a mysterious adversary attacking the Horizon Mining Corporation you work for. What starts as an innocent mining operation is catapulted into an interplanetary war with you and your fellow grinders at the center of the crosshairs.
You can pick from an array of pilot avatars with selectable headgear and icons for customization on the battlefield, as well as kits to deck out your mechs with an assortment of weapons and combat modifiers. Vox Machinae takes full advantage of hand-based motion controllers in VR letting you interact with your cockpit directly using a full body avatar. With seven different grinder types to choose from, ranging from fast and nimble to lumbering and powerful, you can easily transform this into the VR mech combat game of your dreams.
Vox Machinae also includes thrilling multiplayer that has been tested and refined in Early Access on PC for years. When playing online, you can choose from five different game modes including the classic team-based Deathmatch, Salvage which tasks you with recovering and protecting monolithic machines, or the purely cooperative Botstomp which pits you and some friends against waves of hostile AI enemies. In fact, all game modes can be played online with drop-in support, full cross-play across PC VR and Quest, or offline entirely against bots.
Luckily you won’t have to wait long because Vox Machinae is slated to hit the Quest 2 and Rift Platform on March 3 for $29.99 USD.
