UPDATE August 23, 2023: A new trailer just dropped and pre-orders opened up for Islanders: VR Edition. Read on for all of the Quest-related Gamescom news.

Geoff Keighley’s Opening Night Live just wrapped up, which means Gamescom is officially underway in Cologne, Germany! As usual, a ton of video game news will be coming from the annual trade show over the next few days, including updates and reveals on VR games. Tonight had a couple of Meta Quest 2 + Pro updates in store, and we’ll add to this post tomorrow as more news hits.

Bulletstorm VR

The VR remake of the hilariously brutal skill-based shooter is coming out on December 14. You play as Grayson Hunt, a soldier who must fight his way across the deadly planet of Stygia to save his squadmates and get revenge on his former commander. With a gun in one hand and the Energy Leash in the other, you’ll be able to use a combination of ranged and melee attacks to annihilate your enemies. The more creative you can be, the better!

If you’ve played the original FPS on console or PC, you’ll find that the wild story is kept intact in Bulletstorm VR. Pre-order the game now to get 10% off the purchase price.

The 7th Guest VR

Vertigo Games revealed that The 7th Guest VR will arrive just in time for Halloween on October 19. The cult classic CD-ROM game was rebuilt from the ground up for VR with new graphics, re-imagined puzzles, and a more fleshed out story. The original’s FMV cutscenes were also given the reboot treatment—thanks to the use of real actors and volumetric video, it really feels like you’re in the same room as the mansion’s ghostly guests.

Watch the spooky new story trailer for a closer glimpse of the mysterious characters, and make sure to wishlist The 7th Guest VR today.

Islanders: VR Edition

Islanders won over millions of players on console and PC with its colorful and minimalist approach to city building, and it’s coming to Quest 2 + Pro on September 28 as Islanders: VR Edition. You start off by creating small villages, earning points whenever you place a new building on your island (you earn more depending on different factors, like putting them close to natural resources). Those points will help you unlock more types of buildings and expand your town.

Once you’re done, you can move on to a brand-new island and start the simple yet addictive process all over again—and since everything is procedurally generated, you’ll never see the same island twice! Islanders: VR Edition provides endless hours of relaxing and meditative gameplay, and you can pre-order it today to save 10% off the purchase price.
