Gamora and Star-Lord Join the ‘MARVEL Powers United VR’ Super Hero Roster

MARVEL Powers United VR arrives on Rift in exactly two weeks, and today, we’re excited to share that Rocket Raccoon will be joined by fellow Guardians of the Galaxy Gamora and Star-Lord in the full lineup of 18 playable Super Heroes!

Orphaned as a child when the rest of her species was annihilated, Gamora was found and raised by the tyrant Thanos, who conditioned her to become an unparalleled warrior. After breaking free of her chains, “The Most Dangerous Woman in the Galaxy” teams up with Star-Lord and his motley crew, putting her deadly combat skills to use as a member of the Guardians of the Galaxy. Whether wielding the cosmic blade Godslayer or a sturdy blaster, she is a force to be reckoned with.

A headstrong intergalactic adventurer, Peter Quill was taken from his Earthly home at a young age, growing up in outer space alongside the pirate-like alien Ravagers. As the intrepid Star-Lord, Quill travels the cosmos seeking his fortune. Equipped with a high-tech elemental blaster and a mix-tape of music from home, Star-Lord leads an unlikely, ragtag group of misfits—the Guardians of the Galaxy—in their attempts to do a little good, a little bad, a little of both!

With 18 playable characters on day 1, MARVEL Powers United VR will let you live out your comic book fantasies over and over again. From the Hulk’s superhuman stature to Rocket Raccoon’s pint-sized powers and virtually everything in between, there’s something to satisfy just about every play style imaginable.

We’ve already revealed a dozen Super Heroes coming to MARVEL Powers United VR, so you can deploy Black Bolt’s stunning Sonic Surge, don Black Panther’s Vibranium-powered suit, wield Black Widow’s Widows Bite gauntlets, deal devastating damage with Captain Marvel’s Photon Beams, manipulate the four core elements as Crystal, slice and dice with Deadpool’s twin katanas, blast bad guys as Gamora, take aim as Hawkeye, hulk out as the Hulk, dodge attacks with Rocket Raccoon’s jet pack, do battle to the tune of Star-Lord’s personal soundtrack, unleash Thor’s lightning attacks, and more.

When MARVEL Powers United VR launches on July 26, you and your squad will go toe-to-toe with some of the most villainous baddies from the Marvel canon.

So far, we’ve announced the Dark Dimension ruler Dormammu, powerful sorcerer Loki, “The Master of Magnetism” Magneto, Kree zealot Ronan the Accuser, rebellious robot Ultron, and the hate-fueled creature known as Venom. We still have a trick or two left up our sleeve, so stay tuned to the Oculus subreddit for more villain reveals.
