Clock In: Your Shift in the Ghost Reactor in ‘Gorilla Tag’ Starts Today

Good news, Monke! The arrival of Ghost Reactor in Gorilla Tag means new economic opportunities are now available to you, in the form of perfectly safe gainful employment working in the newly revamped Mines. You can start pulling yourself up by your bootstraps—or the legless Monke equivalent, anyway—today, for free, in Gorilla Tag.

Another Axiom’s Ghost Reactor update offers Gorilla Tag players a new cooperative PvE mode with rogue-like elements. Your job as a newly hired employee of Gorilla Corp is to take on a 20-minute shift in the Mines. Along with your squad, your job is to explore the Mines and clear out the ghosts you find there to collect their Spectral Cores. But thanks to the spooky supernatural nature of the area, the layout of the Mines is constantly shifting, forcing you to find your way anew each time you venture in. If you want more of a challenge, you can also run shifts solo.

Fortunately, you’re not going up against those ghosts unarmed. Ghost Reactor’s tools include the Charged Baton, which you can use to smack ghosts and turn them into Spectral Cores, and the Spectral Flash, which you can use to remove the Spectral Armor for tougher ghosts, or to eliminate Spectral Barriers blocking your way. As you gather cores, you can return them to the start area to convert them into Spectral Energy.

Making your way through each shift, you’ll have to make decisions with your teammates about how to spend your Gorilla Bucks on tools, and when to use your Spectral Energy to recharge your equipment or open doors that let you delve deeper into the Mines. Ghosts aren’t the only hazards, though—if you hear an alarm, it’s time to high-tail it back to the start area to avoid some less-than-desirable results.

Battling ghosts isn’t without its risks, as well. Should a spirit get the better of you, you’ll either need a teammate to revive you with a Revive Tool, or you’ll have to make your way back to the start of the Mines to use the Revive Shower. And since spirits can’t lug around equipment, you’ll leave all your gear behind if you get got by a ghost.

Gorilla Corp has big plans for the Mines and the Ghost Reactor, so expect regular updates to bring new tools to help you in your ghost-hunting endeavors, along with new depths and dangers. You can start your shift today in Gorilla Tag, available for free on the Meta Horizon Store.
