Join the Federation and Defend Humanity From the Bugs in ‘Guardians Frontline,’ Now Available on Meta Quest 2
In Guardians Frontline, you play as an elite soldier from the Galactic Federation in a total war against the bugs. Guardians use a variety of powerful abilities, guns, and vehicles to annihilate their enemies and can instantly summon new structures on the battlefield to help them out, including gun turrets, mechs, and armed combat robots.
Guardians Frontline is now available for $24.99 USD on Meta Quest 2 and Meta Quest Pro. Check out the launch trailer below.
The game features a single-player campaign where your role as the Guardian is to protect Federation planets during a conflict in the galaxy, and you can tackle these missions with up to four people in cooperative multiplayer. Guardians Frontline also has a PvP mode where up to eight players can test their armies and powers against one another.
And if you’re feeling creative, you can design your own maps with the easy-to-use level editor and upload them online so that other players can try them out. You can also jump into Galaxy Conquest, a shared campaign for all Guardians where more than 150 community-made maps await you.

The original idea for Guardians Frontline came from a simple question: What would the love child of Halo and StarCraft look like? We’ve always loved sci-fi movies and games, especially FPS and RTS games. The team spent countless hours playing games like StarCraft, Age of Empires, Command & Conquer, Halo, and Call of Duty.
We wanted to merge the best of both worlds in a streamlined experience designed from the ground up for VR. The player would control a powerful, Halo-like super soldier with a wide range of weapons and abilities at their disposal, while also having the ability to command large armies like in StarCraft.
With that idea in mind, we started working on Guardians Frontline and in March 2021 we launched on App Lab. From the very beginning, a community formed around the game and started giving us feedback, from pivotal ideas like the in-game map editor to hundreds of small quality-of-life suggestions. They also provided detailed bug reports over the last two years that really helped us improve the experience.
The game simply wouldn’t exist without the passion and dedication of our community.

In addition to development feedback, our community of incredibly talented map-makers created over 400 public maps, with new ones coming out every week. The best maps are regularly selected to be part of Galaxy Conquest, a seasonal campaign where all players fight together in a war against the bugs for control of the galaxy. These creations are the lifeblood of the game and provide a never-ending stream of content to our community (you can browse through all the maps via the “Create Game” section in the main menu).
Guardians Frontline comes with overhauled visuals for all official campaign levels, a completely new spaceship, multiplayer lobbies, new avatars, improved weapon sound effects and impacts, performance improvements, and more than 150 new assets for the level editor. But this is just the beginning—we plan to keep adding more biomes, vehicles, weapons, enemies, and much more in the future!
