‘Home Sports’ Turns Your Living Room Into a Social Sports Arena This December
Everybody loves a little friendly competition, but it can be tough to get out to the pickleball court or the mini-golf course around the holidays—especially if they’re under a few inches (or feet) of snow. That’s where Resolution Games and Home Sports come in, bringing social sports into your living room in mixed reality just in time for the holidays and giving you a chance to hit some aces or nail some holes-in-one with as many as three other players.
Home Sports gets you up and moving with five social sports in one game—hockey, badminton, pickleball, mini-golf, and bowling—letting you be as intense or as relaxed as you want to be as you play with family and friends. The game uses MR to adapt each sport to your play space, so you’re free to fire off wristshots on the rink or roll strikes down the lanes. Home Sports also makes use of the boundaryless feature to give you plenty of opportunity to move as much as you want, so you can keep it casual, work up a sweat, or go all out. Best of all, though, you can play all those sports indoors, even when the weather outside is frightful.
Resolution Games has already made big strides in active MR games with Racket Club, a MR and VR unique racket sports game, and Spatial Ops, a first-person shooter that uses MR to turn your house into a battle arena. Home Sports offers a more casual option that’s still geared toward getting you moving and having fun with other players, and its use of mixed reality makes it a great entry point into XR games for people who might not have experienced them before.
Home Sports is coming to Meta Quest 3 and 3S on December 11 for $19.99 USD. You can wishlist it now on the Meta Horizon Store and join other players on the game’s Discord.
