Become the Cat: ‘I Am Cat’ is Out Now on Meta Quest

Cats have fascinated us for thousands of years. Cute balls of fur, curled up in an afternoon sunbeam and slow-blinking to convey affection. Monsters, sprinting around at 4AM and knocking glasses off of nightstands, waiting for you to pet them and then attacking your hand when you oblige. A little annoying and a lot adorable.

I Am Cat lets you experience the duality of cat for yourself. As the title implies, I Am Cat transforms you into a cat, roaming around Granny’s house and occasionally wreaking havoc. Scratch the couch! Play with the faucet! Climb on top of the furniture and then leap down on Granny’s head!

There’s a ton to discover in this freeform sandbox adventure. Missions and minigames will test your catlike reflexes and agility, if you need a bit of direction. Play some Whac-a-Mole or try your paws at basketball—it’s a lot harder without opposable thumbs.

But you can also simply explore and cause chaos. Every object in Granny’s house is physics-enabled, so feel free to dump books on the ground, knock over vases and flowerpots, toss wine glasses off the table, or even cook a meal if you’re feeling generous.

Granny’s house is packed full of secrets to uncover and puzzles to solve. Are you her little feline friend? Or maybe her feline foe? Do whatever your little kitty heart desires.

With today’s full release, I Am Cat leaves Early Access and adds multiple characters and a brand new story to discover. If you’ve given the game a try before, there’s a lot to come back and experience—and if you haven’t, now’s the perfect time! Leave your human responsibilities behind and see what it’s like to sleep for 15 hours a day, make a mess of someone else’s house, and still get fed at the end.
