‘Mannequin’ Brings Tense Hide and Seek Multiplayer to Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro in 2024
Who can you trust? What has happened to time? Will it be you or them who makes it out alive?
Coming to Meta Quest 2, 3, and Pro in 2024, Mannequin is the brand-new title from us at Fast Travel Games, makers of Vampire: The Masquerade - Justice, Wraith: The Oblivion - Afterlife, and Apex Construct—and it’s our first ever in-house multiplayer project. One team plays as a race of shape-shifting alien invaders, able to pose and disguise themselves as motionless humans to avoid detection. The other uses state-of-the-art technology and cunning strategy to seek them out.
It’s the ultimate game of cat and mouse.
The Day the Earth Stood Still
An extraterrestrial presence has appeared across the globe. Pockets of our planet have frozen in time, turning first responders into motionless, helpless statues. A mysterious extraterrestrial presence is behind these anomalies. These supernatural beings, known as Mannequins, are hunted by special Agents, tasked with eradicating the alien threat before they become their next victims.
Mannequin plays out in sharp, highly tense matches where the dynamics between hunter and hunted are constantly shifting. Stalk the eerie lab sites and ancient ruins as a Mannequin, disguising yourself as frozen responders to set up deadly ambushes. Or lead the charge against the aliens as an Agent and outsmart the opposition.
The premise is deceptively simple: The first team to eliminate the other side wins. But that’s far from where Mannequin ends.

Aliens Ambush
A team of three players take on the role of Mannequins, deadly aliens with the ability to morph into human statues. Strike a pose, change form, and you’ll blend in with the frozen figures around you, making it extremely hard for the naked eye to tell the difference between friend or foe.
It’s the perfect tool for a tactical ambush. Assume a convincing pose and enemy Agents will have a tough time spotting you. While frozen, you’re free to look around, spot enemies, call them out to teammates, and, when the time is right, lunge forward with a dash attack. Snag your foe with your hands and they’ll be down for the count—it’s just up to you to finish off the rest of the opposing team before they finish you.

Agents Assemble
A Mannequin’s shapeshifting ability may give them the upper hand when it comes to surprise attacks, but the team of two Agents have a few tricks up their own sleeves. Aiding you in your hunt for the enemy is a scanner capable of tracking down Mannequins to an approximate location.
From there, it’s up to you to pick the right target and blast them away before they can reach you. Study your scanner closely to zero in on their location, but tread lightly—should you turn your back on the enemy for even a moment, it could all be over.

Race to the Finish
As if that weren’t enough, there’s a few other devious twists and turns to Mannequin to ratchet up the tension. The Mannequin team can seek out and drain Power Stations, for example, that reveal Agent positions and grant enhanced powers. It’s a useful tool for turning the tide of a tight match, but Power Stations create high-risk areas that Agents will be sure to scope out. Can you fool them into thinking you’re friend instead of foe?
The same is true of Agents. Should Mannequins fail to secure the Power Stations within three minutes, the Agents' gear will power up and reveal the aliens' location instead.
Scanning and shooting aren’t the only tools in the Agent’s arsenal, either. You’ll also be able to deploy beacons that will flag a Mannequin’s location should they walk inside its radius. With so many tricks and tactics available to either side, games of Mannequin are constantly defying the odds. Mannequins may have the numbers, but Agents’ high-tech equipment makes them tough opponents.

Today’s reveal of Mannequin is just the start. We still have a ways to go, more to share, and a lot of questions to answer. Fortunately, we won’t be answering them alone. For the first time in Fast Travel Games’ history, we’re going to work with our community to refine and even define exactly what Mannequin is.
Through extensive playtesting and feedback, we want to ensure we make Mannequin the best game it can be. We’ll have more details to share in the near future, but for now, make sure to head to mannequingame.com to learn more about the game and sign up for future testing!
