Meta Horizon Worlds Spotlight: Derelict
Welcome back to our weekly spotlight on the people building for Meta Horizon Worlds and their amazing creations.
Last week, we checked in with Mavix, who’s created a wide range of worlds, about how he’s transformed from a VR novice to the creator of numerous spaces that support the LGBTQ+ community.
This week, we channeled our inner sci-fi fan and traveled to gausroth’s Derelict, a stark interstellar adventure that tasks you with saving yourself and the rest of the crew of a hobbled ship...if you can.

Deep space. The year 2256. It’s a final frontier. At least it almost was for the crew of the beleaguered craft. But while you and your fellow spacefarers have been asleep for more than 200 years, you’re finally awake. And now you have to resurrect your spacecraft—and your hopes of living among the stars in the wake of calamity back on Earth.
This is the reality you face in gausroth’s Derelict. Upon waking after all these years, you’re confronted with the fact that you’ve been on a dead ship drifting all along. Its power systems are down, and you’re bathed in darkness. Your job, along with any compatriots who awoke with you, is to figure out how to turn the power plant back on and locate the code that will get everything working once again.
Along the way, you’ll discover power packs that you must use to open the rooms that will lead to key steps along your journey. But there aren’t enough packs to open every space, so ingenuity is required. You’ll also need patience to unravel the mystery of moving between the ship’s decks, and you’ll need to move fast—there’s a menacing black hole outside the windows.
So be brave, friend. The future of civilization in space is in your hands. Are you ready?
