Meta Horizon Worlds Spotlight: emmytr0n
Welcome back to our weekly spotlight on the people building for Meta Horizon Worlds and their amazing creations.
Last week, we visited igobyprice’s The Basement, a place he created to play “Taboo” after the death of a close friend and where he hosts regular listening parties dedicated to an artist’s music.
This week, we spent some time with emmytr0n, the creator of multiple worlds like DreamCrafter, and spoke with her about how she uses Worlds to manifest imaginations that make her—and hopefully her visitors—happy.

At first, I was most excited about being able to do karaoke or go to comedy or talk shows. But after I’d been using VR for several weeks, I discovered I had the capacity to create my own experiences in Worlds. And building in Worlds has been the twinkle in my eye ever since.
Since childhood, I’ve always been drawn to imagining wild fantasies with tons of goofy details that make me happy. So the worlds I create are just a personal diary: my virtual daydream journal. Every world I’ve built has pieces of my own story hidden in it, but I also try to leave room for visitors to interpret them in their own way.
Usually, I want to evoke feelings of whimsy and childlike wonder. But sometimes, I build worlds to encourage and spread optimism. Ultimately, my goal is to manifest my own reality into something others can experience themselves.
I had no prior experience with any form of programming or digital art before I joined Worlds. It’s been a delicious surprise and is currently a hobby.
I prefer working on my own, but I have collaborated on several occasions. When I have, it’s been beautiful to work with multiple creative minds and funnel all our energies into a single project. Plus I love seeing how those different energies impact the final build.
Start with what makes you happy and use Worlds as a tool for manifesting your own passions. In this space, there’s no limit to your creativity, and you should explore it. So build something outrageous and unexpected and light your soul on fire. And then take it from there.
I think it’s a place where we can have shared experiences and healthy community gatherings. It’s an accessible reminder of the humanity we tend to overlook in our busy lives, and I believe people are finding Worlds to be an important place for human connection.
VR is bridging gaps within our social continuum. It’s giving us access to places and situations that we otherwise wouldn’t often be in. I think it’s irreplaceable technology and the bread and butter of the metaverse.
My favorite VR experience right now is Walkabout Mini Golf. A group of us from The Unknown Theater, aka the “Unknown Alliance,” have been sharing so many laughs playing the game and getting to know each other.
