Meta Horizon Worlds Spotlight: The Basement

Welcome back to our weekly spotlight on the people building for Meta Horizon Worlds and their amazing creations.

Since the beginning of February, in recognition of Black History Month, we’ve been celebrating Black creators who are building inspiring creations, as well as some of their worlds. Last week, we spoke with M5DivineTime, who built the ’90s-style nightclub, The Warehouse, while the previous week, we checked out the chill zone that is Saydeechan’s Cosmic Garden. And the week before that, we talked to JoyReign, the creator of Joy in the Morning.

This week, we headed down to The Basement, which igobyprice created as a place to play "Taboo" after a close friend died of cancer. He's since hosted more than two dozen listening parties there, each of which have been dedicated to a single artist.

Life can sometimes be difficult and we often need an escape from the things that make it hard. When we feel that way, it's nice to gather with friends to do something that brings you together.

That's why we visited The Basement, a place where its creator, igobyprice, solicits community feedback in order to determine which artist's music to play during the weekly listening parties. And every Friday, igobyprice goes head-to-head with a friend on curated playlist battles.

It's a terrific place for letting go of life's tensions, and in addition to listening to some music, you can play some darts, checkers, pong, or even try producing some new music of your own. It’s all right at your fingertips.
