Meta Horizon Worlds v96 just dropped! This release includes a new category of Social Tools in the asset library, new Skydomes rolling out to everyone, and a bug fix for spawning assets via code blocks.

New Interactive Social Tools in Asset Library

We’ve seen some amazing communities form in Worlds. We also know and appreciate how much hard work goes into organizing them. To help world and community builders alike, we’ve created a new category in the Asset Library called Social Tools. It has some of our favorite social assets, as well as a few new ones we think you’ll find useful for managing your worlds and promoting positive hangs. These include:

  • Three microphones
  • Gathering bell
  • Welcome/info pop-up to greet visitors
  • Chalkboard for writing or drawing
  • List of players in the world with an option to announce who’s entering and exiting
  • Speaking order board

You can find them all by clicking into the Asset Library > Interactive > Social Tools.


New and Improved Skydomes for All

Last week, we began rolling out the new and improved Skydomes feature, and it’s now available to all creators. To recap, we introduced two new types of Skydomes—cubemap and custom gradient—which can be found in Environment Gizmo. Please visit our help center for more details on using the Environment Gizmo.

Content Ratings for Events

Today, we’re expanding content ratings to events as part of our existing Mature Worlds Policy. Similar to content ratings for worlds, creators are now required to rate their events as 18+ or Everyone. This change will help people understand what to expect when they attend an event. To publish new events, creators will need to acknowledge they’ve read the Mature Worlds Policy and rate their world appropriately.

Bug Fixes


General


  • There was a previous issue causing the navigation menu to slow down or freeze when selecting the “Add to party” and “Cancel party invite” options from a User Card’s Overflow Menu. This has been fixed.

Creators


  • We fixed a bug where spawning assets via code blocks would sometimes fail when the world was published, even though it worked properly in Edit/Build mode. This event should now work as intended.

Known Issues


General


  • Gravity isn’t set properly when first entering Arena Clash.
  • Avatar body/skin sometimes shows through clothes and hats. This is also causing flickering. [UserVoice]
  • Loading screen doesn’t display text when clicking on the app or when deep-linking. Text appears when traveling from the main navigation menu.

Creators


  • The “Force Grab Spawned Asset” action doesn’t work properly.
  • Updating position attribute on grouped objects doesn’t update the position.
  • Build toggle disappears from avatar right hand while in Preview mode, leaving the user unable to enter Build mode (specific to a creator’s own worlds and clones they make of their worlds).
