Releases Recap: May 1 – 5

This week, we released a bunch of titles and updates across the Meta Quest Platform. Here’s a rundown of the highlights:

Rogue Ascent VR
The world is on the verge of destruction, and you’re the only one who can save it. Luckily, you have the most powerful weapon in the universe: finger guns. In Rogue Ascent VR, simple hand gestures let you interact with everything in the game, like the aforementioned finger guns for shooting your weapons or putting your arms up in front of your face to activate a shield that blocks enemy fire. Your mission is to fight your way through the High Altitude Void Orbital Cannon (HAVOC), a massive space station that also happens to have a planet-killing laser beam. Each run offers a new experience thanks to procedurally generated levels, enemy spawns, and loot.

Propagation: Paradise Hotel
A sequel of sorts to WanadevStudio’s waved-based zombie shooter Propagation VR, this follow-up is a full-fledged survival horror game in the Resident Evil vein. Explore the sinister Paradise Hotel in search of your lost sister, Ashley. The sound design, lighting, and visuals all combine to create a truly immersive experience that will keep you on edge. Collect resources, solve puzzles, band together with other survivors, and you might just make it through the night alive—if you’re lucky.

Survival Nation
Survival Nation is an open-world online RPG zombie survival game designed for VR. They say that cooperation is key, and it’s no different here. Join other players and explore the world together. Scour abandoned houses in search of gear—and remember to pick up food and water as well. Both are key to survival. You can also fish, hunt, and gather, search for items with a metal detector, hunt for treasure, and much more. As you progress through missions, you’ll level up and earn new abilities across three unique skill trees. Good luck out there.

Pistol Whip - Overdrive Season
This week, Cloudhead Games launched Pistol Whip’s Overdrive Season—a collection of five all-new action-packed Scenes available on the first of each month between now and September. Better yet, Overdrive Season is free to all players, just like every other post-launch content update released for Pistol Whip since 2019. “Shred,” the inaugural muscle-busting track of the Overdrive Season, takes heroes on a soaring sky-high adventure. Start practicing your squats, because you’re going to have to duck and weave more than ever before. Gods of Gravity just released a brand new, free community event for the entire month of May: Galactic War! In this war, you can ally yourself with either the Crux Republic or Vela Dynasty. These factions have held a grudge for centuries, and it’s up to the gods to decide who will prevail! Pick a side in-game, then play games in Public Rooms (or Ranked) to score points for your faction. You score points based on how much you play, so don’t worry about finishing games quickly or even winning them—having fun is the ultimate goal! At the end of the event, everyone who participates receives stardust and/or cosmic coin rewards based on their contributions. Of course, there will be additional prizes for members of the winning faction…

MarineVerse Cup - Practice Docking
MarineVerse Cup is launching a four-part series, Virtual Docking Practice! Designed in collaboration with NauticEd, MarineVerse Cup has transformed their popular online sailing course into several modules so you can safely practice docking—without any pressure from the marina’s tourists. Learn about and practice momentum control, turning (in both forward and reverse), propwalk and how to use it to your advantage, how to use spring lines effectively, leaving the dock, and returning to the dock. Modules will release between May 4 and June 21st and are available as part of MarineVerse Sailing Pass. If you don’t have a Sailing Pass yet, you’ll be able to access a sample exercise for free—or you can upgrade anytime with a Monthly or Annual membership.
