‘Noclip VR’ Invites You to the Backrooms Today on Meta Quest
Welcome to the Backrooms, an infinite labyrinth made up of empty office spaces, underground parking garages, sprawling maintenance corridors, and other so-called liminal spaces. A world hidden just out of sight, until now the only way to visit the Backrooms was to “noclip out of reality.”
Putting on a Meta Quest headset is a little easier. Today marks the official launch of horror-puzzler Noclip VR, as it moves from App Lab over to the Meta Quest Store. Delve into the infamous Backrooms, “approximately six hundred million square miles of randomly segmented empty rooms” where there’s “nothing but the stink of old moist carpet, the madness of mono-yellow, the endless background noise of fluorescent lights at maximum hum-buzz.”
Lovely place.
Luckily Noclip VR allows you to visit this creepy border-world with friends. Bring some company along to help you navigate this unsettling labyrinth, solve puzzles, and try to escape back to reality-reality with your sanity intact. Hopefully you don’t attract the attention of whatever’s lurking back there. And if you do? Well, hopefully you’re the faster runner.
Noclip VR is available now on the Meta Quest Platform. You can give it a try for free and play the first few levels—or purchase the full game to delve deeper into the Backrooms, if you dare.
