‘Onward’ Introduces New Weapons for Stealth Takedowns Behind Enemy Lines
With impressive attention to detail and a gritty sense of realism, MilSim Onward keeps players coming back for more with a variety of solo, co-op, and competitive game modes. And the game just got even better with Update 1.8.10, which introduces two new weapons and marks the triumphant return of the Turbine map.

The first new weapon is the MCX Virtus for the MARSOC Specialist. It was created for the needs of special forces operators working behind enemy lines where, thanks to subsonic ammunition and an integrated suppressor, it guarantees the maximum flexibility in any condition. This weapon is chambered with .300 BLK rounds, which, even if in subsonic configuration, guarantees excellent stopping power in the short to medium range. A unique weapon for Marsoc, with an integrated suppressor and a caliber new for Onward, the MCX Virtus is a powerful additional weapon for close-range firefights.
Next up, the AK-104 carbine rifle, available to Volk’s Specialists, is the weapon of choice for Russian Special Forces and Russian Federal Security Service. It provides a perfectly customizable platform for any type of mission. A compact weapon, the AK-104 is capable of firing over 700 consecutive shots without suffering structural damage, and it’s extremely light compared to similar rifles. Even better, the AK-104 shares the same magazine as the AKM, so if you find yourself in need of more ammo, you can ask a teammate for theirs and have that option as a tactical plan.
The Turbine map centers on a hydroelectric dam near Kazakhstan that provides power for the region and serves as a strategic chokepoint that each faction strives to control. MARSOC and Volk forces control opposite ends of the dam, and it’s time to break the stalemate.
Some players may remember Turbine from the 1.7 PC VR version of the game. The map’s been redesigned and optimized for cross-platform gameplay. It features four levels and multiple rooms throughout, and there are working elevators to get to other levels on the map (but make sure you’re prepared if the enemy team is waiting for you on the other side of those doors). Communication will be key when playing on this map!
Update 1.8.10 also includes a number of performance enhancements. Players can expect to feel the difference when loading into the game and throughout gameplay sessions. Update 1.8.10 is a free update (included in the base price of the game). Check it out on the Quest and Rift Platforms today.
