Step Into the Mind of NBA Champion Draymond Green with ‘Open Season,’ the First Original Immersive Series From Meta Presents
The pressures faced by professional athletes are explored in Open Season, a first-of-its-kind original immersive series, and the first entry in our original content series Meta Presents, announced at Meta Connect 2026.
Open Season follows four-time NBA champion Draymond Green as he sits down with a therapist during the 2025-2026 season to work through what’s really going on — both on and off the court.

Produced by Skydance Sports, Green’s production company The New Media, and Meta, the series combines elite sports storytelling with a visual approach that gives viewers a one-of-a-kind intimate experience. Open Season was shot exclusively in VR in stereoscopic 180° immersive video using state-of-the-art BlackMagic URSA cameras. This puts viewers in the room with Green and sports psychologist Dr. Carrie Hastings for conversations that are raw, unscripted, and deeply personal. The format creates a sense of presence and proximity that’s impossible to get from flat screens, allowing viewers to feel like they’re part of the conversation.
In the series, Green works with Hastings to deal with real moments of struggle and triumph during his 2025-2026 season with the Golden State Warriors. He’s an emotional player and a vocal leader, but often earns technical fouls and, sometimes, ejections from games or suspensions. In a culture that can stigmatize therapy, he struggled to seek help dealing with his feelings. Open Season sees Green work to battle that stigma and heal, for the good of his team, his fans, and himself — with the help of Hastings.

Open Season allows viewers to get a closer and more intimate look at an athlete’s inner life than they’ve ever had before. You can watch Open Season on September 29 on the TV app on Meta Quest.
