Pistol Whip Launches Overdrive Season With New Scene ‘Shred’

It’s time to shake off the old, and rev up for the new. Charge those controllers, clear your playspace, and make sure to hydrate beforehand.

Pistol Whip is shifting into Overdrive.

Today, Cloudhead Games is launching Pistol Whip’s Overdrive Season—a collection of five all-new action-packed Scenes available on the first of each month between now and September, for both the Meta Quest and Rift platforms. Better yet, Overdrive Season is free to all players, just like Smoke & Thunder, 2089, the Heartbreaker Trilogy, and every other post-launch content update released for Pistol Whip since 2019.

“Shred,” the inaugural muscle-busting track of the Overdrive Season, takes heroes on a soaring sky-high adventure. Start practicing your squats, because you’re going to have to duck and weave more than ever before.

Overdrive’s kick-off also happens to overlap with the (ongoing) Open Beta of the official Pistol Whip modding tool, Pistol Mix. That’s right—now you can also play brand new Scenes made by talented modders in the community. The full version is set to publicly release May 31, 2023, and you’ll be able to download custom levels directly in-headset or from Mod.io.
