Halloween Comes to ‘POPULATION: ONE’ With New Events, Modes, and Rewards

Earlier this month BigBox VR announced their roadmap for October 2024 in their popular free-to-play battle royale VR shooter, POPULATION: ONE, and soon it will be time for the Halloween-themed festivities to kick off.

One of the biggest highlights to call out is of course the Halloween event itself! Running from October 24 until November 7, players will be introduced to Halloween-themed rewards in-game, “Boo tech” across maps to follow enemies around as a ghost and scare them, and the Statmaster event where you can earn points based on kills, placement, and shooting pumpkins to unlock themed rewards such as character and weapon skins. Will you earn something spooktacular, or do you have your sights set on the new level 66 golden skin reward instead?

Throughout the rest of the month there are special game modes on offer as well, such as Evolving War for October 18 - October 21 and Phoenix Duos for October 25 - October 28. And for Sandbox, the team is introducing a Spooky playlist for October 24 - November 7 to align with the Halloween event.

Plus, if you grabbed a new Meta Quest 3S headset you’ll be happy to know that POPULATION: ONE is already optimized to take full advantage of the new device! Compared to Quest 2, this includes 300% LOD distance and 16X anisotropic filtering giving environments more details, MSAA 8x and render scale with 1.44 supersampling to decrease aliasing across the game world, and an overclocked GPU for even better performance.
