Threads is Now Available As a Native VR App on Meta Quest

We launched Threads in 2023 as an all-new way to use your mobile device to share real-time updates and public conversations. And because we want to meet people wherever they are, we’ve been expanding Threads to Meta’s next-generation hardware devices. Last month we launched Threads on Meta Ray-Ban Display glasses, and today, we’re excited to announce it’s now available as a native VR app on Meta Quest.

With more than 500 million people using Threads every month, it’s already a powerful global communication tool. By bringing it to our broad hardware lineup, we’re creating a connected ecosystem where you can engage with your favorite communities in optimized formats that fit your moment. And with today’s launch, we’re enabling you to stay engaged on Threads while playing or watching on Meta Quest.

We designed the new Threads app for Meta Quest to make using VR more social than ever. Whether you want to keep up with conversations during a game, riff on the latest TV show or hit album with friends, or simply do fast check-ins between daily tasks, Threads can enhance your VR experience with a dedicated native app. Among the features included with the Meta Quest app:

Browsing feeds: Scroll through your For You, Following, and Custom feeds in a seamless layout that’s optimized for Meta Quest. Plus, you can navigate with controllers or with hand tracking and pull to refresh using natural gestures.
Viewing rich media: Make movie trailers, sports highlights, and creator posts pop by making media more immersive and engaging. 
Discovering conversations: Search for people, topics, and conversations; revisit recent searches; track likes, replies, mentions, and new followers through Activity; or dive into Trending Now to see what the world is talking about.
Interacting with posts: Effortlessly like, reply, repost, quote, share, and save, or refine your feed with features like block, report, mute, restrict, and “not interested.”
Creating in Meta Quest: Start or reply to a Thread, quote or repost, drop in emojis, attach media straight from your Horizon Gallery, and compose completely hands-free with voice dictation.
Visiting profiles: Browse Threads and Replies, follow or unfollow accounts, tag people, and copy profile links.
Managing settings and safety: Customize your appearance settings, set time-limit reminders, report problems, manage blocked or muted accounts, and handle account controls with ease.
