‘The Thrill of the Fight 2’ Multiplayer Launches in Early Access in November
The champ is back! Today, Halfbrick Studios announced that the long-awaited The Thrill of the Fight 2 will release in early access this November on Meta Quest, starting with its multiplayer mode. Put on your gloves and prepare to step into the most authentic VR boxing ring ever.
The original The Thrill of the Fight remains one of the most popular Meta Quest games, combining realistic boxing with a real-world workout. Since its launch in 2016 (and on Meta Quest in 2019), countless players have jabbed, hooked, and uppercut their way through Ugly Joe and the gang in pursuit of boxing superstardom.
With The Thrill of the Fight 2, Ian Fitz, developer of the acclaimed original game, collaborated with Halfbrick Studios to reimagine and improve on many aspects—starting with multiplayer.

An oft-requested feature for the original, The Thrill of the Fight 2 will finally let you test yourself against real players around the world. And don’t worry—while there won’t be weight classes, skill-based matchmaking will help ensure fights provide a sporting challenge for both players.
Taking fights online also means you’re more than just a pair of boxing gloves floating in space. As such, The Thrill of the Fight 2 will include character customization. Recreate yourself or your favorite boxer (or even Ugly Joe) before squaring off against your equally iconic opponents.

Of course, Thrill of the Fight 2 looks stunning. You can duke it out in multiple arenas during early access, from a simple gym to a full-on stadium. And like the original, players with enough space can walk around the ring with real-world movement—though the sequel also includes a standing mode for players with smaller spaces.
Everything above is in the initial early access release of The Thrill of the Fight 2, but much more is planned for the full Version 1.0 release in the future. Halfbrick Studios aims to add a full singleplayer career mode with deeper progression systems and an improved boxer AI. And you can expect additional character customization options, training equipment and exercises, and more.

There’s no date for the full release yet, but early access begins on November 21. Wishlist The Thrill of the Fight 2 today in the Meta Quest Store, and get ready to leave it all in the ring later this year.
