Ubisoft's Arcade Shooter 'Space Junkies' Open Beta Starts Today!

If you missed your chance to jump into the Space Junkies closed beta on Rift last June, then today’s the day to experience the “jetpack-fueled” shooter for yourself. The open beta for Space Junkies kicks off today at 4:00 am PT and runs through 4:00 am PT on March 25. In case you missed our earlier coverage, Space Junkies is a new arcade shooter that places you in massive battle arenas in—you guessed it, outer space—to fight enemies with over-the-top sci-fi guns and gadgets. You can jump into the open beta here.

From Ubisoft, makers of Star Trek: Bridge Crew and Eagle Flight, Space Junkies isn’t your everyday VR shooter. You can see your entire virtual body and navigate freely while battling, meaning you’re free to spin, weave, and fly to dodge enemy fire. You can also blast yourself up, down, backwards, and forwards using futuristic jetpacks. And of course, there’s a full roster of multiplayer options, like 2v2 and 1v1 battles.
