Meta Quest v60 Update: New Horizon Home Environments, Boundary Improvements, and More
We’re deep in the throes of the holiday season, and we’re here with an early gift for the Meta Quest community. That’s right, our v60 software update is starting to roll out, bringing with it new Horizon Home environments, cloud computing improvements to your boundaries, and more.
Details below, and as always, this is your friendly reminder that our software updates roll out gradually. If you don’t see the v60 update yet, remain calm. It’s on its way and should be in your virtual hands soon.
New Horizon Home Environments
Your Meta Horizon Home is a place where you can hang out with friends, watch Meta Quest TV content, or jump into multiplayer games together. And just like your home IRL, it’s a space you can make your own. And now, we’re rolling out three new Horizon Home environments to help you do just that.
Blue Hill Gold Mine puts you and your proverbial cowboy boots back in the Wild West. Storybook lets you step inside a hand-crafted pop-up book. And Lakeside Peak greets you with an awe-inspiring view of snow-capped mountains off in the distance.

Profile Power-Up
We’re launching a new profile design that makes it easier to see what you have in common with other members of the Quest community, spark conversations, and build new connections.
When you visit someone's profile, you can see information about your shared experiences and connections, such as apps you both use and mutual friends. You can choose to make this information visible to others, or keep it private depending on your preferences.

Peak Performance
We’re enabling higher clock speeds for Quest Pro’s CPU and GPU when running MR applications, giving you a smoother MR app experience and a more responsive UI. This update also adds more power for developers to take advantage of for both existing and upcoming apps.
Quest Pro owners can expect to see up to a 34% increase in CPU performance and up to a 19% increase in GPU performance compared to when the headset first launched.
Boundary and Space Improvements
With v60, we’re introducing cloud computing capabilities that improve your headset’s ability to remember more boundaries. That means you’ll spend less time redrawing boundaries and can easily use your headset in more rooms than before.
To take advantage of this new functionality, you’ll need to opt in to share your point cloud data. You can stop sharing and delete your stored point cloud data at any time in your Privacy Settings.
Check out our v60 Release Notes for a more comprehensive look at all the changes. We’ll see you next time for a new Meta Quest software update.
