Launched in mid-May, Gym Class’s NBA Bundle experience features 30 team-branded courts, digital apparel, and accessories. FitXR Community Spotlight: Christopher’s Transformation
Looking for inspiration? You need to hear Christopher’s story. Since he started using FitXR less than 10 months ago, Christopher has lowered his blood pressure, lost 75 lbs, and done things he never thought he was capable of.
Christopher: I absolutely hated fitness to be honest. I would try over the years to get in better shape, but outside of walking/jogging, I could never stay at it for too long. Within two weeks, I’d quit. It was like that every year for the past 10+ years.
Christopher: I’ve dealt with depression for a long time, and my social anxiety made it no better. Food was my best friend. My blood pressure was through the roof—like 193/125. I had headaches every week because of it. I hadn’t seen my family for years. I didn’t love myself at all. With all that happening, I just felt it was time for me to make a change, no matter how difficult it would be. I needed to find love within myself, and I knew I needed to start with my weight and stop relying so much on food to make me happy.
Christopher: My mom bought a Meta Quest 2 in May of last year. She only used it a few times and just let it collect dust afterwards. I decided to bring it home with me and see what I could do with it. I saw suggestions for workout apps and landed on FitXR.
Christopher: It’s changed everything for me. I’m so happy I found FitXR when I did—it changed how I felt about fitness. I know other people find fun in doing fitness the traditional way, but I never could. I look forward to doing FitXR. In the beginning,I could barely do the 10-minute Beginner workouts just three to four days a week. I slowly moved up the time and difficulty.
I’d see people do Expert Box workouts like Sweat Remastered, and I’d say “There’s absolutely no way I could ever do that.” Now it’s part of my daily routine on top of other Expert Box workouts.
Last year, I’d absolutely dread mowing the lawn because I’d be so tired when I was done. Now I can do almost an hour of Expert boxing in FitXR, then go out and still have energy to mow the lawn. It’s put me in a much better shape. I feel so much better now. My blood pressure has also gone down.
FitXR also helped me eat right. Because the workouts were so intense, I didn’t want to throw all of the hard work I put in away, so I totally changed how I ate. I stopped going to fast food restaurants. I stopped drinking soda, and I started eating a lot healthier.
If I could go back in time and tell myself that I’m doing back-to-back Expert workouts with short breaks, I’d be shocked because I never thought I’d be able to do it.
Christopher: The best advice I can give is to just stop believing you can’t do it and just go for it. Even when it seems like you can’t do it, you have to dig deeper than you ever have before and turn that “can’t” into a “can.” You can’t worry about how far someone else is on their own fitness journey. Your only opponent is the past you. Go easy on yourself. You have to take breaks when you need to, and most of all, once again, believe in yourself because you will and you can make your past self proud.
Christopher: The people I see in the FitXR Facebook group inspire me the most. I love seeing people from all backgrounds do what they thought they couldn’t so they can make a change in their life. It inspires me so much.
The coaches also inspire me. They often say things during classes that give you the strength to keep going. I appreciate them for that because sometimes I feel like I can’t do it and they make me believe in myself.
