VR Fitness Digest: March 2023
Spring is finally here! But just because the weather is (hopefully) warmer doesn’t mean it’s always convenient to go outside to exercise. Sometimes we still need to stay in, and that’s why VR fitness is the perfect solution to getting our heartrate up right at home.
This month, we’re excited to spotlight some terrific new VR fitness content, as well as hear from a professional trainer and fitness star about why she loves boxing in VR. So grab those controllers, strap on your headset, and let’s get ready to work up a sweat.

Ding ding ding! Gabby Allen has entered the ring!
For professional trainer and fitness star Allen, VR boxing in FitXR is exactly the kind of workout that gets her shoulders pumped up and firing. She loves that it gets her whole body involved and that when she’s slipping and sliding out of the way of incoming bars, and throwing lefts and rights at them, she’s generating power from the ground up. That means getting down low on all those squats can produce explosive energy that helps her punch even harder.
“Boxing is a fantastic way to work on your core strength,” she says, “and, as we know, core plays the biggest role in every workout. The stronger your core, the faster you’ll run, the more you can lift and the better your agility and balance!”
And boxing generates “all the endorphins,” she adds. “It’s epic. You’ve gotta give it a go!”
New Content

In the past, if you wanted a full-body workout, you had to go to the gym or have a roomful of your own equipment at home. But no longer! With VR Workout, you can easily turn your living room into a personal gym and give every part of your body the heartbeat-raising, sweat-inducing workout it craves.
You’ll be able to jump, squat, or do pushups, side planks, crunches, run, and burpees, all to the beat of some head-bobbing tunes.
Utilizing hand tracking on Meta Quest 2, you’ll have total freedom of movement to work out without controllers and you can always move at your own pace. VR Workout features intelligent exercise design that meets you where you’re at and takes you safely to the limit of your endurance.
You can choose any of eight immersive environments, from a dazzling city skyline to a deep and luminous cave, and get moving on your own or challenge friends from around the world in a custom workout you designed yourself.
And if you want to push yourself even further, you can level up with live classes in a group setting led by an experienced trainer.
