‘VR Games Showcase’ August 2025 Recap: Every Meta Quest VR Game Announcement

The VR Games Showcase is back once again today! Following on from the first-ever show back in August of last year and the Spring Showcase earlier this year, the August 2025 iteration debuted today with, arguably, the best lineup yet. Featuring nearly two dozen games across a huge variety of genres including Forefront, Reach, and several games from Flat2VR Studios, today’s show was an absolutely stacked celebration of VR gaming.

With so many games on display, we took the time to round up each and every one of them that are coming to the Meta Quest platform on the Horizon store for you down below. We’ve included everything from both the XR Indies & Friends pre-show and the main VR Games Showcase alphabetically.

Your favorite 3D social party game, Among Us 3D, released a new limited-time event called Critical Cargo. There’s a new Gorn collaboration out today! Dive into a relaxing, color-filled escape with Color-A-Cube. This immersive coloring experience lets you bring voxel worlds to life, one cube at a time. Discover unique themes and models, with new content inspired by the community!

Today, the legendary VR creators at Owlchemy Labs (Job Simulator, Vacation Simulator) are back with a new DLC release for their latest whacky experience, Dimensional Double Shift. In this new addition, players will be introduced to a new locale, New Joysey, where the boardwalk’s busted, the games are rigged, and the diner will deep-fry their souls. It looks equal parts hilarious and fun, as expected.

Dixotomia is a VR shooter in a world of a sci-fi dystopia. Become a SpecOps contractor, fight vampire cult and its vile bosses. Experience immersive action with brutal guns and vampiric abilities. Can you uncover dark secrets of a distant planet and return back unchanged?

Exoshock is a cooperative sci-fi PvE shooter that redefines VR combat with intense firefights, squad tactics, and dynamic battlefields. Featuring adaptive AI that counters your tactics, up to 4 players co-op, customizable loadouts, and large, unpredictable environments, this is the type of non-stop action you’ll keep coming back to over and over.

The over-the-top arcade racer smashes into VR with cockpit racing, vehicular carnage, and full-mode parity from the 2017 classic. Tear through 20 tracks with 27 upgradeable cars across Career, Arena, Assault, and the series’ beloved Stunt Mode, now made gloriously immediate in-headset. Flat2VR Spark’s adaptation focuses on tactile destruction, reactive physics, and comfort options for long racing sessions.

Open alpha launches today! From the creators of Breachersand Hyper Dash comes an all-out war experience like never before in VR. Forefront is a multiplayer VR first-person shooter. Dropping players into near-future warfare, Forefront will feature up to 32-player battles, ensuring non-stop action across expansive battlefields. My Monsters is a VR action-adventure with 100% hand-painted art. Enter the dreamlike world of Onirium and team up with Moti, your inner little monster, to battle enemies, solve puzzles, and face inner monsters like anxiety, loneliness and fear, uncovering fragments of a meaningful dreamlike tale.

Of Lies and Rain is a story-driven first person shooter built exclusively for VR. Set in a dark, sci-fi, post-apocalyptic world, at the edge of the real and digital realm. You’ll fight to reclaim your past and save humanity from the brink of extinction.

The cult sandbox of bad decisions is being rebuilt for VR by Team Beef and Flat2VR Studios in collaboration with Running With Scissors. During the Showcase, the teams revealed a Kickstarter-exclusive reward tier: a reduced-price POSTAL 2 VR option available only to the first 200 people who claim it. In parallel, the POSTAL 2 Redux Kickstarter will fund features and stretch goals that also benefit the VR version.

RAGER is the music-action brawler that throws you into epic battles where you fight like a true warrior. Set in a dark, digital realm that builds itself around you, each world emerges from the void to test your skill and dissolves once the battle is won.
