We could all use a break, right? A chance to unwind from the stresses of daily life, center ourselves, stretch. Maybe even play a little mini golf.

Today, Walkabout Mini Golf invites you to relax and soak in the peaceful atmosphere of its latest course, Crystal Lair. This one-of-a-kind resort is packed with all the latest amenities—and 18 holes of golf, of course. Take some deep breaths (in through the nose and out through the mouth), take in the views, and take a few selfies as you make your way through this stunning wellness retreat.

Okay, sure, the name Crystal Lair is a little ominous. And sure, you’ve heard the rumors about “Cristóbál,” the charismatic billionaire who owns the place. Wouldn’t it be nice to ignore all that though and just relax?

Oops. Too late. As longtime fans of Walkabout Mini Golf might’ve guessed, Crystal Lair is the fourth installment in developer Mighty Coconut’s ongoing Evil Lair series, following on from Laser Lair, Ice Lair, and 8-Bit Lair.

With Crystal Lair, the unique mechanic is “magnetic crystals” that will wreak havoc on your aim. Per usual, there are two 18-hole courses (an Easy and a Hard Mode), plus a themed foxhunt you can solve to earn a Crystal putter, limited-time Crystal Lair decor for the Welcome Island, and 11 suitably relaxing avatar cosmetics.

  • Visual Cursor: Players can now quick-select wristwatch functions with gaze tracking and single controller, one button input.
  • Quick Mute: Whether to mask a sneeze, call, IRL conversion, or…other noises…mute is now one quick click away.
  • Current Player: The current player name now appears listed on the wristwatch display in multiplayer rounds.
  • Mighty Magnifier: When accessibility settings have the magnifier active, a toggle button allows players to quickly enable/disable the feature for comfort and context.
  • Activity-Aware UI: With the growing variety of activities such as foxhunts, slingshots and more, players can now reference their wristwatch for status, clues, and even select collectibles. Note: Players can toggle foxhunt clues off.
  • Instant Replay: Duplicating the B/Y controller button map, ther’es now an additional way for players to intuitively replay shots.
  • Activate CocoVision Camera: Quick access to our new in-game camera.

As for that last bullet point, Mighty Coconut is also partnering with LIV to add CocoVision Camera to Walkabout Mini Golf on Meta Quest.

Mighty Coconut does warn that CocoVision Camera is an experimental feature, so be aware that you might notice performance issues or other bugs as you play around with it.

Enough reading—time to relax and book that retreat. You can find both Walkabout Mini Golf and the new Crystal Lair course in the Meta Horizon Store.
