Forgotten Oasis: The ‘Temple At Zerzura’ Emerges From ‘Walkabout Mini Golf’ Today on the Meta Quest Platform
The sands of the Sahara Desert are constantly changing, piling up in dunes hundreds of feet high only to shift and reveal ancient secrets—like the Temple At Zerzura, a long-lost tribute to a king and queen of old, and their undying love of miniature golf.
Welcome back, explorers! The Temple At Zerzura is the latest add-on course for Walkabout Mini Golf, and also the fifth and final (for now) entry in the Lost Cities series. This one’s big—literally. According to Mighty Coconut, the “Hard Mode” version of the Temple At Zerzura course covers 180m from Tee #1 to Hole #18, or about 50 percent larger than Walkabout Mini Golf: Labyrinth. That’s a lot of green.
It’s surrounded by an equally vast setting as well, one that properly pays homage to the larger-than-life architecture of the ancient Egyptians. Explore a venerable temple complex, buried by a sandstorm that’s long since faded from memory. The sands recently receded (most of the way), letting the world’s most intrepid golfers putt their way through labyrinthian halls packed full of ancient treasures, lost balls, and a veritable army of cats.

To honor their treasured feline companions, ancient Egyptian families dressed them in jewels and fed them treats fit for royalty. When the cats died, they were mummified. The team behind Walkabout Mini Golf has done their part to honor their own finicky companions who oversaw the building of the course, so keep an eye out for some special tributes in these hallowed chambers.
"One of the most critical roles within the team is that of the Dev Emotional Support Cat (or critic). The ancient Egyptians shared this fondness of felines. Within the halls of Zerzura we've memorialized our gratitude for Coconut cats, past and present," said Emma Mercado, 3D artist with Mighty Coconut.

Ancient Egyptians believed cats were magical creatures, capable of bringing good luck to the people who housed them, so hopefully a little rubs off on players.
The Temple At Zerzura is available now for $3.99 USD on the Meta Quest Store, so lather on some sunblock and get ready to putt your way through this eighth wonder of the ancient world before it’s reclaimed by the desert once again.
