Workout Wednesday: Top Rated Fitness Apps and Games
Welcome back to Workout Wednesday. Last week, we showed you how diving into VR fitness is a fun and exciting way to start a regular routine that’ll get your heart pumping—anytime and anywhere you want. We highlighted some great fitness apps, explained our new heart rate feature, and shared the inspirational story of how a Supernatural community member turned to the hit app to kickstart his fitness journey.

This week, we’re putting the spotlight on some of our top-rated, sweat-inducing workout apps, ones our community loves and that we know you will too. So whether it’s dodging bullets in SUPERHOT VR, bobbing and weaving in The Thrill of the Fight, or channeling your inner ping-pong champion in Eleven Table Tennis, we’ve got what you need to have fun and take the “work” out of “workout.”
What’s New This Week

Once you get started on your new VR fitness routine, you’ll probably want to keep track of how you’re doing, whether you’re in VR or not. And because we’ve integrated Meta Quest Move stats into the Meta Quest companion app on Android and iOS, you can do just that.
With this new update, you’ll be able to sync your VR fitness progress to Health Connect by Android. That means you can keep track of all your VR workouts in the same place that you track your other daily activities and compile all your stats in the same place.
And when you sync with Health Connect by Android, you’ll automatically track your VR workouts on your Android device without ever having to manually input anything. We announced a similar integration with Apple Health last year.

Last week, we teased it, and now it’s here. So if you or someone in your life has been chomping at the bit to get into VR fitness, there’s no better time than now. Through January 19, Meta Quest 2 comes with an Elite Strap for no additional charge. This is an essential accessory that will help you get the max out of your VR workouts, letting you balance and support your headset by simply twisting its built-in fit wheel. So you’ll be able to swing at targets, shoot three-pointers, throw punches, and so much more without worrying about your headset’s fit—no matter how much you move. Normally priced at $59.99 USD, you can get the strap at no additional cost when you buy a Meta Quest 2 by January 19 (or by January 15 in EMEA or APAC).

If you want to get together with friends for a fun and exciting VR workout session, there’s no better place to make some moves than Meta Horizon Worlds. You can jump into something quick or something longer, and you’ll know it’ll be challenging and immersive. So whether it’s slowing down and doing some yoga in a stunning redwood forest with Paige Willis, getting your groove on dancing with Alyson Stoner in the desert, or doing some sculpting or HIIT in world-class natural environments, it’s all waiting for you. Just head on over to Worlds and get going!
Top-Rated VR Fitness Apps and Games
If you’re just getting started on your VR fitness journey, here are a few of the apps and games our community loves. Each of these has a rating of greater than 4 out of 5 on the Meta Quest Store.
There’s no one better to inspire your exercise journey than four-time Olympian and New Zealand national track and field head coach Les Mills. Modeled on the monster hit martial arts and fitness BODYCOMBAT program created by instructors Rachael Newsham and Dan Cohen, LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT incorporates tons of heartbeat-raising activity in one of the highest-rated VR fitness apps.
Featuring a heartbeat-raising collection of hit tunes, LES MILLS BODYCOMBAT will get you punching and doing knee strikes on your way to being seriously active before you know it.
Getting and staying active has never been easier thanks to the mega-hit VR fitness app from Within, Supernatural. Loaded with hundreds of sweat-inducing workouts synced to some of the best songs ever recorded, Supernatural will help you find a daily routine you love—and let you visit some of the most stunning locations in the world.
And don’t worry about getting motivated. Supernatural pairs you up with expert coaches who will cheer you on through regimens of smashing targets, boxing, stretching, knee strikes, and meditation. This award-winning hit game blurs the lines between measured strategy and unconstrained chaos. In SUPERHOT VR, time only moves when you move. So the more you sweat shooting, slicing, and dodging slow-mo bullets, the more action there’ll be.
Unlike any other game, SUPERHOT VR features signature slow-motion combat as you—and you alone—battle never-ending enemies and get a great workout as you go.
Regardless of whether you’re a welterweight or a heavyweight, this heartbeat-raising boxing app will have you eager to jump into the ring to duck your opponent’s swings and deliver the knockout punch.
Each challenger has their own style and technique, so you’ll need to master timing and skill to prevail. But if you do, you’ll walk away a champion!
Get a serious workout in this ultimate table tennis simulator while you take on your friends in online multiplayer mode or slice and dice the AI opponent. Featuring realistic physics, you’ll be smashing forehands and practicing trick shots—all while working up a sweat—before you can count to 11.
Meta Quest Move Tips

Working out and knowing you’re doing something good for your body is great. Being able to see the stats that reflect your hard work is even better. And with Meta Quest Move’s Overlay function, you’ll be able to see your heart rate, calories burned, and active minutes in real time.
After setting up Meta Quest Move, which you can find in your library, choose your Overlay location—either “top” or “bottom”—in the Move settings.
You’ll be able to turn Overlay off or on, as well as adjust its placement, any time you like and without quitting your current game by using Voice Commands. To do that, just press the
button twice and try out a voice command like “Open Move Overlay.” Or you can say “Hide Move Overlay.”
If you want to see your real-time heart rate, pair a Bluetooth-enabled heart rate monitor to your Meta Quest.
