Meta Horizon Worlds v109 Release Notes: Popular Asset Shelf, Invite Codes, & More
Meta Horizon Worlds v109 is here! We’re introducing new ways for creators to discover popular assets in our Asset Library. And we’re testing invite codes to easily join your friends in a world.
New “Popular” Section in Asset Library
As we’ve continued to add to our Asset Library, creators have shared that they want an easy way to discover popular assets. So we’ve added a new Popular shelf to Asset Library Home, which features assets ranked by how useful they’ve been for other creators. Use this as your source for exciting new assets to use in your worlds or simply browse to see which assets are trending with other world builders.

Joining Friends Made Easy
We’re back with another experiment for invite codes, which make it easy to connect with and join your friends in worlds. As we begin this next set of tests, some people will notice a new option to generate and enter invite codes from the right-side of the main menu. You’ll need to be in a joinable location, like a public world, Home World, or invite-only instance, to generate a code. That means you won’t be able to travel to or generate a code from Welcome Island. For more information about invite codes, check out this article.

An Update on UGC Event Creation
As we’ve refocused our development in Worlds toward improving the overall quality of the platform, we’ve taken time to also revisit some legacy features that aren’t quite living up to our renewed quality standards. As part of this effort, we’ve made the difficult decision to discontinue the event creation tool in Worlds. As of today, you’ll no longer see the option to create events in Worlds. Any existing events that have already been created but are scheduled to occur after today can still go on as planned. For more information, please see our Discord announcement.
