‘VR Games Showcase’ 2024 Recap: Every Meta Quest VR Game Announcement

The first-ever VR Games Showcase just wrapped up earlier today and it featured over 30-minutes of all-new footage, game reveals, and announcements for well over a dozen VR games. You can read more about the VR Games Showcase and its plans going forward here.

Notably, nearly every game in the showcase is coming to the Meta Quest platform—or is already there—and several of the games shown are totally new never-before-seen announcements. It was a great morning for VR gamers!

We organized all of the Meta Quest games from the VR Games Showcase into the list below, sorted alphabetically by each game’s title.

Lights, VR headsets, action! In Action Hero, you’ll wield tons of crazy weapons against all manner of enemies from ninjas and bandits to raptors and robots. It’s a wild, exciting, and cinematic cel-shaded adventure that’s all gas and no brakes. Including slow-motion effects, naturally! You can wishlist the game now.

You read that right! The original Arizona Sunshine from Vertigo Games is coming back to life as a fully remade experience including all of its released DLC. And you won’t have to wait long to return to those zombie-filled landscapes because Arizona Sunshine Remakes shambles onto Meta Quest this October 17. Pre-orders are available now and get a 10% discount with special cosmetics, plus, if you own the original, then you can upgrade to the remake for just $9.99 at launch.

Transform your controllers into instruments with Band Space. In this multiplayer musical rhythm game you can play a virtual guitar, keyboard, or bass, and hit the sticks on the drums either solar or with up to three other friends. Get ready to rock out when Band Space hits Meta Quest later this fall, with a free demo available now.

This is the direct sequel and follow-up to the excellent Down the Rabbit Hole VR adventure. In this next game, you’ll continue the journey from the unique third-person perspective as you solve puzzles and unravel the secrets of this mysterious alternate world. Escaping Wonderland launches on Meta Quest on September 26.

We’re not sure if people will be ready for the speed and intensity of the intense and visceral racing found in FlatOut once it makes the transition to VR, but it should certainly be fun to at least give it a try! This beloved racing game is a perfect fit for Flat2VR Studios’ initiative to bring more great games to VR, including both Meta Quest and PC VR platforms.

If you feel like your VR shooters could use a bit more speed and are held back by the limitations of feet-based movement, then look no further than Fracked. In this intense action game, you’ll spend most of your time rocketing down the side of a mountain on skis across a frozen tundra while you take out bad guys along the way. Fracked blasts its way onto Meta Quest this August 29.

Who doesn’t love a bit of bombastic style in their lives with a colorful new VR shooter? With FRENZIES, that’s exactly what you’re getting all wrapped up in an arena shooter package with fast gameplay, over-the-top action, and randomized rules and game mode modifiers. You can hop in for a free Early Access period this October on Meta Quest.

From the makers of Ghosts of Tabor, GRIM is a multiplayer survival game that takes place on the surface of Mars. You’ll have to scavenge for supplies, build shelter, and defend your gear from other players in this battle for supremacy.

Rebuilt entirely from the ground up specifically for the Meta Quest 3 headset, IO Interactive’s critically acclaimed and beloved espionage-fueled assassin adventure has its sights set on releasing this summer. Pre-orders are available now!

This creepy first-person shooter from Fast Travel Games is already out in Early Access and players have had a blast fooling their friends and sneaking around dark corridors. In Mannequin, you must pick a side and do your best to deduce who is hiding in plain sight. You can jump into the full game when it leaves Early Access next month on September 12.

After watching that trailer, Roboquest looks like the kind of game that you could easily think was built from the ground up for VR originally. This is shaping up to be an incredibly fun and fast-paced VR shooter and we can’t wait to see how Flat2VR Studios adapts it for Meta Quest and PC VR.

Once again from the creators of Ghosts of Tabor, Silent North is an online open world survival horror survival game that takes place in frigid northern mountains that are overrun with zombies. You’ll struggle to survive in a dangerous world filled with not only the undead, but other players you cannot trust as well.

The critically-acclaimed horror puzzle game from the creative minds at Schell Games is creeping its way onto PC VR with a revamped and overhauled experience for new players to enjoy. In Silent Slayer, you must proceed with caution, because even the slightest wrong move can be terrifying. Silent Slayer is available now on Meta Quest and comes to Steam for PC VR on October 10.

Do you have what it takes to toot for glory? Trombone Champ is a hilarious award-winning game that puts a trombone in your hand and makes you the master of this beautiful brass instrument. You may not have expected to see this game adapted for VR, but it looks extremely hilarious and fun. What more can you ask for? Trombone Champ: Unflattened makes its way to Meta Quest and PC VR this fall.

Who doesn’t appreciate a good pun? In Vendetta Forever, you’ll utilize the inventive effects of “Lo-Kill-Motion” which allows you to rapidly move between enemies and zoom through the game world with every enemy you kill. That’s nifty! Vendetta Forever hits Meta Quest in October with a free demo available starting today.

Boomer shooters are all the rage right now as a recently popularized genre that takes the chunky, wonderful classic 90s art style we all know and love and polishes it for a modern audience. Now, one of the genre’s best games in Wrath: Aeon of Ruin, is getting the full VR treatment courtesy Flat2VR Studios. There’s no release date yet, but it’s coming to Meta Quest and PC VR soon.
