Minecraft on Windows 10 also runs on Oculus Rift, and supports all of the Minecraft features you know and love.
Build, explore and battle mobs from a fresh perspective. With a VR headset on, coming face to face with monstrous mobs takes on new meaning, creeping into dark caves inspires even greater trepidation thanks to 3D audio and the light of a gorgeous sunrise seems to envelop you more completely.
If you haven't downloaded Minecraft on Windows 10 yet, you can do so in the Oculus Store or the Windows Store. Either one will allow you to play Minecraft on your desktop and your headset. In-app purchases will be synced across the desktop and headset as long as you're signed in to your Microsoft account in the Windows Store.

Bedrock Minecraft, now working in VR!!
So glad they fixed this after so many years!! It runs well on my Quest Pro!! Controls explained below for those that need them... There are also extra VR settings in the menu which you can access through mouse/keyboard on your PC. I didn't need to do anything, it ran out of the box without issues -- though SUPER EASY fix to get working if you run into issues. As others stated, be patient, it's a little fiddly to start up sometimes but it does work! Note the older Mojang web support links and articles are gone (probably Microsoft did that), but the old steps to ensure it works still apply.
This runs BEDROCK version of minecraft*
I have the current microsoft launcher for bedrock+java but this seems to use its own wedge to start up. My meta/quest drivers and firmware are up to date. I use Quest Link wirelessly over WiFi. You may use keyboard controls, touch controller or xbox gamepad.
In-game controls with Quest touch controls:
left thumstick - move forward/backward
left trigger = place block
left grip = scroll inventory left
Y = 2D room/3D VR immersion
X = open/close inventory (E)
right thumbstick = turn left/right
right trigger = punch/use (left mouse click)
right grip = scroll inventory right
A = up/JUMP (space)
B = down/squat (shift)
If you have issues running this, you need to check your windows registry as some have noted the HKLM\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1 ActiveRuntime key must point to your oculus_openxr_64.json location!
* I know some run people use another patch via steam for java edition, perhaps there's a way to do it here but it's beyond my knowledge. PS: I don't understand the bad reviews from lazy people who can't take 2 minutes to get it working?

Some tweaking required!
My PC is running Windows 11 with the most up to date version of the Minecraft Windows App.
I made a quick change to a registry key being careful to document what I changed just in case I ever need to change it back and the app ran for me with no issues.
The great thing about this is that it is the 'normal' version of Minecraft, so if you want to play with others they dont have to have VR but can join via the desktop app. Deciding who gets the headset though, that's a whole other game :-)
For those wanting to try the same thing -
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Khronos\OpenXR\1
Look for ActiveRuntime
Change to C:\Program Files\Oculus\Support\oculus-runtime\oculus_openxr_64.json (providing you installed Oculus to the default location, otherwise look for the oculus_openxr_64.json file on your hard drive and point it at that). - Edit, you will still get nag messages during startup about updating windows etc, just keep pressing the button to skip them. When you get to VR Minecraft be patient, first time I ran this it took over a minute for the actual Minecraft menu to appear.
Hopefully this quick fix will help a few others having the same problem. Tested on both Quest 2 via Airlink and my old Rift.

Does not work
Should be either updated or removed, because it simply does not work.

No longer works from Meta Store
To get VR working in mincraft you will need to follow the guide from Minecraft help center.
help. minecraft. net/hc/en-us/articles/360057773212
(just remover the spaces after "help." and "minecraft."
